Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Neuro ICU Discipline: RN Start Date: 01/26/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel Opportunity: RN - ICU Neuro Job Details: • Work 12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM • 4 total weekend shifts required per 4 weeks • Holiday coverage based on unit coverage needs • 1:2 patient ratio in Neuro ICU, 4:1 ratio when floating to telemetry units • Must have Level 1 trauma experience and EVD (external ventricular drain) experience • 2 years ICU experience required in large hospital (450 beds) • 3-6 months travel experience required • Required certifications: BLS and ACLS • Must pass DYS exam prior to accepting position (2 attempts allowed) • Pass/fail exam on day 1 of orientation • Required to float between all ICU floors and telemetry units • 2 shifts floor-specific orientation provided • Must complete SIMs Lab for Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes • Work with Phillips monitors and ventilators • Must have strong neuro assessment skills and ICP monitoring experience • Care for patients with neurological diagnoses requiring critical care • Handle cases including craniotomies, brain tumor removal, ablations, brain biopsies, spine surgeries • Must have natural hair color, no facial piercings, men must be clean-shaven for fit testing • Must have own vehicle for transportation • Scrub color: steel grey for neuro floors • May be placed on standby for scheduled shifts • Charting system: Cerner EMR Facility: This major medical center houses one of the world's largest neurological disease treatment and research institutions, consistently ranked as one of the best neurosurgical training centers in the United States.
