ICU/Critical Care RN in Phoenix, Arizona, 85013! Job Title:
Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Cardiovascular
Intensive Care Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: 12-Hour Nights Hours per
Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience required
License: BSN Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, CCRN preferred
Must-Have: Must have Level I Trauma experience. Must pass
dysrhythmia exam prior to acceptance. Travel teams must have their
own vehicles. Must have natural hair color and no facial piercings.
Men must be clean-shaven for fit test. Pass/fail exam on day 1 of
orientation. Description: This position requires high acuity
nursing skills in a busy cardiovascular intensive care environment.
The nurse-to-patient ratio is typically 1:1 to 2. There is a high
number of 1:1 assignments. Strong IV skills are essential. Nurses
are expected to have experience with bedside procedures, including
bronchs and central line dressing changes. The unit handles a
variety of complex patient cases such as cardiac surgery recovery,
lung transplants, and ECMO. All nurses will complete a skills lab
covering key competencies prior to patient care. Educational
sessions will also address lifts, restraints, and wound care
policies. There is a weekend requirement of 3 shifts in a 4-week
schedule. Holidays are included in the rotation. The work
environment includes collaboration with intensivists and a
dedicated respiratory team available 24/7. The charting system used
is Cerner. Travelers will float to other intensive care units and
telemetry units as needed. A focus on maintaining sterile field
