External Sales Consultant (alternative custody solutions)

Job Description:

Provident Trust Group, an Ascensus owned company, is retirement custodian and administrator that specializes in self-directed IRAs with comprehensive trust and escrow services. We have an exceptional opportunity for a seasoned sales professional who is a prolific hunter and navigator of winning business with large institutional companies. Specifically, this position will target broker/dealer & RIAs and will help drive new revenue vehicles for retirement solutions requiring alternative assets, escrow deals for private capitals raises, and new product creation to deliver differentiation and value. Successful candidate can work out of either our Roseville, CA or Las Vegas, NV locations or remote San Antonio, TX or Phoenix, AZ. Responsibilities include relationship management for these key institutions, coordination of due diligence and RFI requests, and new product or process development. The position will drive new deals and align with the Provident Trust Groups Strategic Account Management team, Director of Sales and other sales leadership within Ascensus. Responsibilities:

  • Identify and develop new lasting relationships and promote growth with distribution intermediaries through value-added strategic selling and execution of consultative solutions to further Ascensus reputation as a premier provider of retirement, escrow, and custodial services.
  • Consistently demonstrate a superior level of proactive client focus and team work. Leverage industry knowledge to promote key intermediary satisfaction, leading to client retention and new account growth.
  • Act as an internal advocate for key intermediaries and their clients by coordinating with internal Ascensus departments.
  • Consistently deliver superior service to strengthen relationships and capture a greater share-of-wallet from key intermediaries.
  • Review existing book of business to identify plan retention and cross-sell revenue opportunities with Strategic Account Management Team.
  • Lead and participate in projects and initiatives related to the establishment of new key intermediary relationships.
  • Maintain proficiency with multiple partner products and Ascensus proprietary products to effectively manage key relationships across these platforms.
  • Maintain proficiency with regulatory, financial, accounting, service, operations and compliance aspects of the sales function.
  • Prospecting Live Event / Networking opportunities aimed at creating partnerships
  • Knowledge of broker-dealer segment & custodial model
  • Understanding of retirement market and how TPAs, Record-Keepers and Custodians can partner to drive new product development and growth
  • Ability to cross-sell and up-sell within a multi-division company to help drive synergies and growth for the companys overall value proposition
  • Assist with other tasks and projects as assigned
  • Proven track record working with broker dealers or other financial institutions
  • Responsible for protecting, securing, and proper handling of all confidential data held by Ascensus to ensure against unauthorized access, improper transmission, and/or unapproved disclosure of information that could result in harm to Ascensus or our clients.

    • Bachelors degree in business or related fields, or equivalent work experience
    • 5+ years of experience in financial industry or related industry
    • Prior experience with direct client/client equivalent relationships within a financial services administrative environment
    • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
    • Ability to work with a high level of independence
    • Ability to handle multiple objectives at the same time while producing quality results within tight time constraints
    • Ability to make sound business judgments while effectively balancing client needs and organizational considerations
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including group presentation experience
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products including Excel, Word and PowerPoint
    • Strength in building strong relationships with C level executives and their teams
    • Ability to coordinate and run meetings attended by senior-level personnel in both internal and external environments
    • Ability to travel as required (up to 30%)
