States of AmericaThe Datacenter Facilities Technician provides
technical and facility support within the within the U-Haul
corporate headquarters 24x7 data center environment, including
maintenance and oversite of electrical, HVAC, and building
management systems. They will participate with multiple IT teams on
project work as requested. Interfaces with employees, vendors and
customers at all levels. Work with physical facilities & networking
equipment, determine work priorities/manage order commitments.
Perform custom installations and troubleshooting as well as conduct
advanced testing.RESPONSIBILITIES:Performs preventive, predictive,
and corrective maintenance on critical equipment: HVAC/CRAC units,
electrical (including UPS, DC battery systems, PDU, generators,
transfer switches, and switchgear), cabling (electrical,
data/voice), fire detection/suppression, life safety, lighting,
temperature control systems, building management systems (BMS), and
digital systems (including fire alarm, duress, card access,
CCTV).Take daily operational readings of all mechanical and
electrical equipment and inspect buildings, grounds, and all
equipment for unsafe or malfunctioning operation.Hardware
installation including but not limited to: Ladder racking, PDU's,
door relay controls, shelves, power strips, rails, cable
management, and networking equipment.Troubleshooting circuits with
use of circuit testing equipment.Perform helping hands services
with internal IT teams.Coordinate facilities service and
maintenance requests with building management team.Report current
status via the ticketing system (Cherwell), shift reports, and
email.Maintain accurate records and document all problems.Exhibit
quality workmanship on all work and maintain data center
cleanliness.Escalate SR's or that require additional
information.May perform other duties as assigned.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS
AND ABILITIES:Take daily operational readings of all mechanical and
electrical equipment and inspect buildings, grounds, and all
equipment for unsafe or malfunctioning operation.Experienced with
data center operations concepts working with generators, UPS
systems, PDUs, chillers, air handlers, and fire alarm
systems.Working knowledge of AC/DC power principles.Experience with
installation, repair and integration of commercial alarm, card
access systems and/or CCTV systems.Able to read installation
drawings (Visio drawings/spreadsheets/CAD).Intermediate PC skills
with demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. SharePoint
proficient.MINIMAL REQUIRTMENTSJourneyman Electrician or Electrical
License Highly Preferred1-3 years of related work experience within
a production data center environment.2-5 years electrical and low
voltage cabling experience.High School Diploma or GED required.Able
to perform all essential job functions, including walking,
standing, bending, stooping, climbing, lifting and manual
dexterity, with or without reasonable accommodation.Able to lift,
push 50 lbs. while bending, kneeling or standing.Able to squeeze a
hand-tool for twenty plus (20+) repetitions without causing or
exacerbating any injury or medical condition.Able to
workdays/nights/weekends/holidays, if needed and/or
required.General knowledge of safe working practices (e.g.,
familiar with proper tool safety, eye protection, ladder safety,
etc.).Proficiency with basic operations of a PC is necessary;
Proficient in MS Office applications preferred.Strong
organizational, time management, and prioritization
