SUMMARY
Responsible for all aspects of purchase agreement administration,
including preparation of Request for Quotes (RFQs), negotiating
terms, and awarding purchase orders. Monitor and help to strengthen
and maintain a strong supply chain in the areas of quality,
delivery, and cost control. Support continuous improvement best
practices in procurement of equipment, materials, subcontractor
services and all related procurement processes.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND Responsibilities include the following. Other
duties may be assigned.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
A degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or Supply Chain
is preferred. 2-3 years related experience and/or training.
Previous experience assisting project teams in preparing RFP/RFQ
requirements, evaluating proposal responses, and managing supplier
cost and performance expectations. Experience with procurement of
mechanical and electrical subcontractor services pertaining to
installation of industrial machinery and equipment is preferred.
Capital procurement and coordination with 3PL is a plus. An
equivalent combination of education and/or experience is
acceptable.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to effectively negotiate with suppliers and maintain good
working relationships in a professional manner. Ability to write
reports, business correspondence, and procedures. Effectively
present information, influence others verbally and through written
correspondence. Listen and respond in an articulate manner.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability,
statistical inference, and fundamental economics. Ability to apply
concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to
reports and spread sheet applications. Has a general understanding
of business financial principals, such as budgeting and
forecasting, to ensure purchasing decisions are fiscally sound and
responsible.
OTHER SKILLS
Possess a working knowledge of industrial machinery or automated
material handling equipment design concepts and specifications.
Able to make decisions and act to solve problems even when dealing
with difficult situations
Able to positively influence the actions and opinions of others to
achieve common goals
Working knowledge of MS Word, PowerPoint, and Email; must be
proficient with Microsoft Excel
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw
valid conclusions. Ability to make decisions quickly and
effectively using a variety of available data and technical
information.
TRAVEL
This position requires up to 10% travel including domestic and
international. A valid drivers license and good driving record are
required.
