Many of the complexities of solar adoption are wrapped up in site design. As SunPowers hardware product and service offerings expand, complexities increase. This is a ground floor opportunity, and the ideal candidate is a true builder. Raising the bar for customer experience in Digital is core to SunPowers strategy, and this role will play a critical role in driving future growth. The SunPower Digital team is looking for a Product Management leader to own the product vision for Site Design. Reporting to the Director, Product Management, this role will be a key member of the Digital team. The mission of the Site Design team is to remove those complexities by leveraging machine learning and simplifying the approach for homeowners and internal customers. You will own the strategy for maximizing efficiencies and remote capabilities for the benefit of our homeowners and internal designers. Given new product introductions and the changing landscape of regulations, this function is of great strategic importance for SunPower. The role will deliver business impact through a variety of metrics, including reducing cycle times, improving the direct to consumer purchasing experience, and as well as AHJ (Authority Having Jurisdiction) compliance metrics. This is a high visibility role with considerable autonomy, scope, and potential for immediate impact. You will be the voice of our prospect homeowners and internal system design customers in front of SunPower senior leadership teams. You will own the definition, execution, and delivery of all software relevant to the PV (photovoltaic) and SunVault (storage) system designs for sales and permit design. You are strong at execution, and able to collaborate with sales, engineering, and business, to deliver a delightful, cohesive, and scalable experience. Your mission is nothing less than to envision the future of remote site design. You will build experiences that surprise and delight customers and unlock growth for SunPower. Your responsibilities will include engaging with our external and internal customers to identify requirements, defining product features, and working closely with software development teams to launch those features. You will also work with our Sales and Operations teams to design and deliver a cohesive customer experience both on and offline. Successful applicants will have experience defining products, leading cross-functional teams, and communicating to a large number of stakeholders at all levels of the company, both in writing and in meetings. SunPower is seeking a high-energy Software Product Manager for our next-generation design platform. This role will be responsible for building upon SunPowers downstream solar design technology. SunPower is focused on building a best-in-class permit design application through automation and process workflows to help more homeowners go solar faster. Core responsibilities include participation in the creation, validation, and ongoing refinement of the overall software strategy, and leading the development of our Instant Design technology both as part of SunPowers comprehensive digital strategy. The ideal candidate will be strong both commercially and technically, and comfortable engaging with a variety of stakeholders across our customers, partners, suppliers, and internal organization. This person must have experience managing a consumer-oriented web and mobile product, and be capable of driving business-level decisions at all levels of the organization. The product manager must be comfortable working with users to identify pain points, designers to visualize new features, and engineers to transform stories into the software. He or she must be adept at writing user stories, executing with engineers, and managing an agile backlog. The position will touch all aspects of SunPowers design platforms from initial value proposition through project-ready design. Essential Duties include the following: Manage the construction of the next generation of SunPowers design technology, through which SunPowers systems and energy services are built. Work with the product design team to develop user personas based on qualitative and quantitative data, user interviews, and user workshops Work with SunPower dealers and homeowners to identify software pain points Generate product insights based on identified feature requests, pain points, and overall software strategy Clearly articulate product decisions to users, the product team, internal stakeholders, and engineers Manage project planning, sprint and release planning, demos, and other Scrum-related meetings Create, maintain, prioritize, and sequence the product backlog based on business value or ROI Conduct post-launch user feedback sessions to support continuous software improvement Provide ongoing tracking and analysis of key product competitors Basic qualifications: + Bachelor's Degree + 5+ years of experience in product or program management, product marketing, business development or technology. Successfully delivered complex products that scaled over time. + Experience with end-to-end product delivery, including building, delivering and operating products in a consumer-centric space, both desktop and mobile. + Customer-obsessed. Excellent customer intuition when faced with product tradeoffs. + Strong ability to use data and metrics to back up assumptions, make recommendations, and drive actions. High attention to detail. Eats complexity for breakfast. + Strong project planning/execution skills including estimating, scheduling, and executing on tight deadlines. Ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment. + Excellent written and verbal communication skills. + A natural team player with the ability to influence and collaborate across multiple teams at all levels. + Strategic thinker who will actively contribute as a member of the Financial Products leadership team, including setting the strategy and deciding what our next best investments should be. An understanding of the upstream and downstream sales to permitting design process. + Experience developing and implementing strategic relationships with 3rd party online sales and marketing partners. + An entrepreneurial spirit who wants to change the world and naturally prefers to move fast. + Ability to actively hire and develop talent. + Ability to dive deep and find gaps that need to be addressed; and effectively identify, communicate and recommend the best available solution to implement.
