Research Technician I, Center for Applied NanoBioscience and Medicine (Part-Time) (Multiple) (Phx) Posting Number req11758 Department COM Phx NanoBioscience & Med Department Website Link Location Greater Phoenix Area Address 475 N. 5th St., Phoenix, AZ 85004 USA Position Highlights A part-time position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Jian Gu in the Center for Applied NanoBioscience and Medicine at the University of Arizona College of Medicine-Phoenix, investigating novel organ-on-chip platform for modeling bubble-assisted focused ultrasound disruption of cellular barriers. The successful candidate will be a well-rounded, enthusiastic individual with training in Biomedical Engineering and/or other related engineering, and experience performing research in a laboratory setting. This individual should be detailed oriented, conscientious, and able to follow instructions and have the ability to communicate in a clear, concise manner orally and in writing. Duties & Responsibilities Sets up and performs a variety of lab tests and operations. Records results, makes observations, analyzes data, and interprets test results. Refines, adapts, and develops procedures or techniques to fit specific experiment requirements; modifies existing equipment or designs and fabricates requisite equipment. Collaborates in the development of new strategies, techniques and equipment. Participates in the preparation of technical reports, summaries, protocols and quantitative results Coordinates the acquisition of lab supplies. Provides research administrative support including coordinating schedules, handling intake, maintaining records and files. Records information and maintains logs of experimental data. Prepares required test solutions from detailed instructions. Cleans, sterilizes, operates, maintains, troubleshoots and repairs equipment, machinery and instruments used for research. Additional duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent, or equivalent learning attained through experience required. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in related field of study. Previous organ-on-chip research experience. Experience with tissue culture and microfabrication techniques. Familiarity with immunological methods such as western blotting, immunofluorescence, immunohistochemistry and FACS analysis. Experience with basic molecular biology techniques, such as cloning, electrophoresis and PCR.
