Position: QA Technician Location: Gila Bend Plant - Gila Bend, AZ Responsible for the overall management, direction, and coordination of all plant quality functions. With minimal supervision, performs timely standardized physical and chemical tests on raw materials, in-process materials, and finished products to determine compliance with specifications. Responsible for knowledge of product specifications and recognition of analytical discrepancy. Maintains laboratory records in neat, accurate and orderly manner. Duties and Responsibilities (not limited to)

  • Maintains complete and accurate records of all test data and results.
    • Maintains the laboratory in a neat and orderly manner to assure that conditions are acceptable according to good housekeeping and safety standards. Participates in on-the-job or other training as required. Attends regularly scheduled Safety meetings and implements all CCC and OSHA safe work practices. Conducts monthly safety observations. Follows all Safety Guidelines and JSP's - makes suggestions for improvement if necessary.
    • Maintains an adequate supply inventory by proper storage and reordering.
    • Prepares and standardizes all solutions used in the laboratory including stock and standard iodine, molasses, methylene blue, sodium thiosulfate, iron analysis solution, etc.
    • Operating from written procedures the laboratory technician prepares samples for analysis and performs tests on raw materials, in-process materials, and finished products to establish conformity to specification. Enters all production data into SAP and maintains all appropriate documentation and quality records. Qualifications
      • A High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required.
      • One-year certificate from college or technical school (Chemistry or an equivalent field) preferred.
      • 2 years of laboratory work preferred. Hours of work: Full-time position with hours generally Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. (8-hour days with OT needed as workload changes).
