Scottsdale Community College (SCC) is hiring a full-time, Plumber Senior.

This position will provide lead oversight and perform journey level plumbing work, including the installation, inspection, maintenance and repair of water, sewer, and other plumbing systems, appurtenances and fixtures.

Essential Functions
75% - Provides lead oversight by directing and overseeing the work of contracted plumbers and reviewing project blue prints and drawings. - Performs journey level plumbing installation, inspection, maintenance, and repair work on water, sewer, and other plumbing systems and equipment; performs necessary repairs and alterations to plumbing installation including piping systems and fixtures for water, gas, steam, compressed air, storm drain facilities, waste disposal systems, tests, checks, and repairs leaks of liquid or gas plumbing systems; clears clogged pipes and grease traps; measures, cuts, threads, or bends various types of pipes; connects pipe sections with appropriate disposal systems; conducts inspection and preventative maintenance of plumbing facilities, equipment, and systems

10% - Reviews materials needs, estimates job costs, requisitions, and/or purchases materials; maintains work records, logs, work orders, and related documentation

15% - Performs general maintenance and cleanup work as required; maintains tools, equipment, and work site in a clean and safe working condition

Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or GED


Five (5) years of experience as a journey-level plumber that includes lead oversite over journey plumbing work in the maintenance of buildings and facilities

There is no substitution or equivalency allowable for the high school diploma or GED.

Desired Qualifications Eight (8) years of experience in commercial plumbing installation, maintenance, and repair work; performing routine inspections and preventative maintenance
Experience using a computer and relevant software applications
Experience prioritizing, organizing, and maintaining records and files
Effective written communication skills as demonstrated in cover letter and resume
Experience in an institution or campus environment
Knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local laws, codes, and regulations
Special Working Conditions
Possession of a valid State of Arizona Class D driver's license is required; must meet minimum standards regarding driving:

May be required to travel or be assigned to all MCCCD locations

May require numerous evenings or weekends

May require prolonged periods of viewing a computer screen
May be required to lift or carry up to #50 lbs
