Job Description:

RRA Companies, a boutique real estate capital, advisory and asset management firm, is seeking an experienced commercial real estate loan originator to join our dedicated team of professionals to originate loans nationwide. RRA is an innovative, fast paced, supportive and entrepreneurial company. This individual will be responsible for originating commercial mortgages from $1 - $25 million nationwide in both floating and fixed rate product that meet our volume, yield and quality standards. This individual would report directly to the owners of the company. The ideal candidate must have experience originating commercial real estate loans though an established network of commercial mortgage brokers, bankers and borrowers. The candidate will be expected to enhance the pipeline of financing opportunities by expanding program awareness and creating relationships with brokers, bankers and end users in strategic regions throughout the country. A fundamental understanding of the commercial underwriting process including market analysis, leasing, capital markets, cash flow modeling, valuation analysis, borrower underwriting, appraisal and other activities related to financing commercial real estate is required for this position. This individual will be have the opportunity to be involved in high level discussions from the onset and have an accelerated growth rate given the variety and importance of tasks assigned to them. Job Responsibilities: - Identify and source lending opportunities for RRAs CRE lending platform. - Expand awareness within the mortgage broker, banker and borrower community about RRAs lending platform to enhance the pipeline of financing opportunities. - Travel to regions where RRA is strategically focused on expanding the program awareness to enhance the mortgage investment pipeline. - Provide initial due diligence and underwriting to prequalify mortgage investment opportunities that fit the criteria and credit standards. - Provide preliminary credit terms to brokers/borrowers based on RRAs internal underwriting to identify active targets with a high probability of utilizing available investment capital. - Collect, organize and analyze data including property economics, borrower, location, current market rents/vacancy and leasing. - Prepare draft loan approval documents including a preliminary overview of the investment opportunity, the background of the loan request, relevant market data, collateral description, valuation projections, preliminary underwriting, proposed loan terms and recommendations. - Generate documentation including credit committee presentation, credit proposals, commitments and other associated documents. - Independently develop valuation and property analysis of new loan inquiries to determine credit worthiness of the investment based on local market information, leasing reports, broker interviews, collateral and borrower experience. - Analyzing leases and other property operating statements including property related income statements, balance sheets and rent rolls. - Monitor and track loans using a proprietary pipeline management software solution. - This position requires interaction with mortgage brokers, real estate brokers, borrowers, attorneys, escrow officers, title agents and other professionals. Positive working relationships and communications will be vital to the success of this position. Qualifications: - Minimum of two (2) years of commercial real estate mortgage origination experience. - Experience developing, selling and marketing commercial mortgages to the mortgage brokerage, banker and borrower community nationwide with a proven track record of success and references. - Experience underwriting/valuing distressed, value-add and core investment opportunities in the retail, office and industrial real estate sectors. Hospitality and multifamily underwriting capabilities a plus. - Proficient modeling commercial real estate investments in Excel. - Proficiency modeling commercial real estate investments in Argus is a plus. - Thorough understanding of valuation related concepts such as cap rates, IRR, NPV, discount rates, etc. - Strong financial, quantitative and critical thinking skills. - A working knowledge of commercial real estate fundamentals. - Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and excellent communication skills. - Proficiency with Microsoft Office products and ability to learn new software. Compensation: - Commensurate with experience - Performance based with generous commission structure
