This excellent Mold Technician is knowledgeagble in the maitenance and repair of industrial size injection molding equipment. They pride themselves in their safety mindset, quality and follow through. We also offer life insurance, disability and 401k plan with 50% company match up to 6% of contribution.Berry is proud to provide accumulated time off for:11 HolidaysVacation TimePersonal Days for Perfect AttendanceAdditional Benefits:Steel toe boot annual allowanceSafety Prescription Glasses allowanceUniforms provided at no cost to the employeeContinued training opportunitiesCareer advancement opportunities and pay progression available and more.Responsibilities:Perform plastic injection mold change-oversDisassembly, cleaning, and reassembly of injection mold bases, cavities, and Hot/Cold runner systemsCleaning of vents and mold faces in production while in the injection molding machineGrease molds and carriers as necessary, clean all excess residue that may come in contact with the partsChange cavities and cores that have been damagedPerform adjustments to molding machines to optimize the cycle and to make good quality partsAssist with color and material changesTrouble shoot Mechanical issues and determine an appropriate action planMonitor and ensure scrap is being accounted for accuratelyPerform mold change overs in a timely mannerPerform adjustments to molding machines to optimize the cycle while maintaining quality partsTrouble shooting part defects and/or manifold issues while in the injection molding machineChange cavities and cores that have been damaged with mold being in the pressTrouble shoot cavities that may be blocked during production for flash, water leaks, or any other issues reported by operatorsAssist production with color changes, material changes, and any other problems that may arise (i.e. stacker jams)Work closely with quality control to address any quality problems that may arise during productionReport any oil leaks or machine issues to maintenanceFill out mold books and down time sheetsReport any safety problems or concerns to your supervisorMaintain a clean, safe and orderly work stationAny other duties as assigned by supervisor or department managerObtain forklift certificationFollow all Lock-Out Tag-Out proceduresFollow all good manufacturing practices (GMPs) and HACCP practicesMust know the Quality Policy and Food Safety Policy while applying it to working practicesMust be able to work in a team environment and help others as neededQualifications:QUALIFICATIONS:Ability to read and understand tooling prints, GD&T and shop mathKnowledge of injection molding cycles, thin-wall molding and stack mold processesThorough knowledge on how to use different hand and diagnostic tools for testing and fixing equipmentAbility to operate overhead cranesTime management and organization skillsHas basic working toolsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
