Job Description:
The Phoenix Country Club Youth Programs Specialist is
responsible for overseeing, planning, and directing the Club's
youth programs and family activities to include Family Night,
Firebird Programs and any Club related member functions. The Youth
Programs Specialist will lead in the planning, initiation, and
development of new youth programs and family activities, in
accordance with established departmental goals and objectives. Does
related work as required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES include the following (other duties may be
assigned):
-This individual must be highly organized, prompt, creative and
outgoing
-Event Planning and Coordination: Oversee all aspects of event
planning, from concept development and budgeting to vendor
selection, finalization, and day-of coordination
-Vendor Management: Collaborate with vendors and suppliers to
negotiate contract and manage logistics
-Creative Input: Provide creative input and design suggestions to
create unique and personalized events
-Develop a "tween" and teen program.
-Plan, implement and oversee Friday Family Night youth
activities.
-Assist in hiring, supervising, and training counselors, and other
team members assisting with youth and child events.
-Energetically and enthusiastically interact with all members and
their children daily. Develop ideas for youth activities and action
plans for increasing opportunities and participation.
-Work closely with the Membership and Communications Team to
identify member needs and advertise all youth events and
functions.
-Work closely with the Food and Beverage Team in constructing and
implementing Club Family Events.
-Attend and assist with youth events in Aquatics, Tennis, Golf, and
Fitness.
-Leads a variety of activities and outings designed to benefit
program participants.
-Maintains and reviews case records/incident reports and modifies
participant programs as needed.
-Prepares oral and/or written reports concerning program
activities, objectives and effectiveness.
-May participate in the development of program budget, applications
for funding and the disbursement of funds.
PREREQUISITES
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to
perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed
below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability
required.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
-High School degree required. College degree desired, preferably
in, Hospitality, Marketing or Communications, Sports Management or
Education.
-Minimum of 3 years experience in event planning and
implementation.
-Strong organizational skills.
-Excellent oral and written business English communication skills,
ability to use computer and Microsoft Office package.
-Self-starter, independent worker without direct supervision in a
fast-paced environment.
-Ability to exercise critical human relations skills in
establishing and maintaining effective relations.
-The ability to attain any required licenses or certificates, such
as First Aid/CPR, Childcare certification, etc.
-Must be extremely accurate and detail oriented.
-Youth Activities experience is required and previous private club
experience is highly desired.
-Must have a positive attitude, maintain a professional demeanor at
all times, and be willing to help others.
-Candidates must be able to work a flexible schedule to include
some evenings, weekends and holidays.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of
concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization
exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in
written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The physical demands described here are representative of those
that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the
essential functions of this job.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly
required to stand, walk, and talk or hear. The employee frequently
is required to use hands to handle or feel; reach with hands and
arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit and stoop,
kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or
move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this
job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral
vision, and depth perception.
