Job Description:

Performs preventive, corrective, and fabricated maintenance repairs on Shamrock Fleet vehicles; including but not limited to Truck Tractors, Trucks, Refrigerated Trailers and other Fleet vehicles.

Essential Duties:

• Perform routine Preventative Maintenance (PM's) for all Fleet vehicles
• Welds metal components and parts using specialized equipment such as welders
• Uses electrical currents to create heat and bond metals
• Oversees tests on welded surfaces to evaluate weld quality and conformance to specifications
• Inspect, analyze, troubleshoot, diagnose and perform repairs for Heavy Duty Truck Tractors, Trucks and Trailers.
• Disassemble, repair and re-assemble Heavy Tuck & Trailer components; including but not limited to; diesel engines, transmissions, axles and any other components or systems.
• Drive Tractor/Trailers and/or Trucks for purposes of test drives and/or the return of vehicles to the various Shamrock division facilities.
• Properly use and maintain company tools while performing repairs
• Other duties as required. Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
  • 1-3 years related experience and knowledge in MIG welding and a truck repair environment
  • Must have experience and be proficient in MIG welding of aluminum and steel
  • Must have hands-on fabrication skills and be familiar with routine preventative maintenance
  • Must have general working knowledge of air brake systems, foundation brakes, lights, and wiring systems
  • Must be flexible and willing to work the demands of the department; which are subject to evenings, weekends, holidays.
    
    Physical Demands:
    
    The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
