Academies of Math and ScienceDay Porter CustodianLocation: 4540 W Glendale Ave, Glendale, AZ 85301Position SummaryWe are looking for an exceptional day porter person to perform a variety of general maintenance and custodial duties in and around school buildings including plumbing, painting, landscaping, and repairs.Work Hours: Monday - Friday.Responsibilities:Assess all areas of the school and clean as necessaryPrepare and stage cleaning suppliesMaintain a supply of and account for cleaning supplies and equipment; always maintain an adequate inventoryComply with chemical handling laws and safety regulations as required; maintain a safe working environmentAnswer questions and interact professionally with school administrationCleans and maintains building facilities including classrooms, break rooms, conference rooms, teacher work rooms, hallways, gymnasiums, lunchrooms, nurses' rooms, stages, lobby/receptionist areas, etc.Performs the necessary room set-ups for scheduled meetings and events (including daily cafeteria set-up)Sweeps, mops, scrubs, and vacuums floors using cleaning solutions, tools, and equipmentCleans and/or polishes walls, ceilings, windows, door glass, and building fixturesLaunder towels and mop headsDusts furniture, walls, light fixtures, baseboards, student desks and other equipmentGathers and empties trash throughout the campus, including on the exterior of the campus as necessaryCleans and sanitizes bathrooms dailyCleans and services cleaning equipment daily and as neededApplies wax or sealers to wood or concrete floors as directed by Head of Operations/ Facilities ManagerAssists in building security, locking and unlocking of doors and gatesAssist with routine maintenance tasks such as light bulb and filter changesNotifies Front Office Manager of the need to order materials/supplies.Notifies Head of Operations/Facilities Manager needs for major repairs, or additions to building operating systemsAbility to operate and mechanically understand the following machines, tools, and other special equipment and supplies used to perform job duties: hand tools, small power tools, ladder, backpack and upright vacuum, floor buffer, carpet extractor, cleaning and polishing chemicals, wheeled utility cartKnowledge of HAZMAT regulations and Safety Data Sheets requiredOther duties as assignedEmployee Benefits:Competitive salariesPaid sick days and personal leaveFully paid employee benefits including medical, dental, short/long term disability, and life insurance; optional low-cost vision insurance401k retirement plan (with 4% employer match)Interested in working with us?Please include a detailed resume demonstrating your experience and accomplishments.Compensation: $13.50 - $16 per hour, DOE.Qualified Candidates Must Have:High School Diploma or GED2 years Experience with cleaning school environments or similarFamiliar with SDSUnderstanding of basic cleaning equipment operation such as Backpack Vacuum, Floor Varnisher, Microfiber Cleaning Systems.Ability to work in teamsAbility to respond to School Emergencies such as classroom spills and lunchroom spillsDYPT
