Job Description
The Dean of Students is seeking a highly motivated, outgoing, and
dynamic Business Operations Specialist. Under administrative
direction of the Dean of Students and Business Operations Manager,
the Business Operations Specialist will assist with planning,
organizing and coordinating the business operations functions in
accordance with established goals, priorities, time limitations,
funding limitations or other specifications. These functions
include basic budgeting, accounting, purchasing, reconciliation,
payroll, hiring, staffing, and other functions designated by the
Fiscal Specialist utilizing and following standard University
programs, policies, and procedures.
In this role, most duties will be performed on behalf of
Undergraduate Student Government and various Student Organizations
housed at the Downtown Phoenix campus. Therefore, experience
working with student leaders and student workers is critical to the
success of this position.
Salary Range
$40,464 - $45,000 per year; DOE

Essential Duties
Demonstrated knowledge of standard office and administrative
practices.
Experience with ASU financial reporting systems (Workday,
PeopleSoft) and financial controls, purchasing best practices, and
ASU policies and procedures.
Demonstrated knowledge of basic principles, practices, processing
and methods of accounting, budgeting, and inventory management.
Experience in analyzing, foreseeing, and developing effective
solutions for logistical problems.
Experience working in a fast-paced environment with competing
deadlines.
Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Adobe
Acrobat PDF.
Evidence of establishing and maintaining effective working
relationships in a professional capacity.
Experience in using time management skills.
Evidence of effective communication skills
DAYS AND SCHEDULE: Monday - Friday 8am-5pm
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a field appropriate to the area of assignment
AND three (3) years of related experience; OR, Seven (7) years of
related experience; OR, Any equivalent combination of experience
and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and
abilities have been achieved.
Desired Qualifications
Knowledge of basic principles, practices and methods of accounting,
budgeting, and inventory management
Knowledge of basic project management.
Experience in performing detailed and complex numerical
computations and reports, including analysis and evaluation of
budgets, planning and other management information systems.
Experience in designing presentation materials.
Experience in coordinating activities and establishing
priorities.
Experience in establishing and maintaining effective working
relationships.
Evidence of effective communication.
Working Environment
Activities are performed in an environmentally controlled office
setting subject to extended periods of sitting, keyboarding and
manipulating a computer mouse
Frequently required to stand for varying lengths of time and walk
moderate distances to perform work
Regular activities require ability to quickly change priorities
which may include and/or are subject to resolution of conflicts
Communicate to perform essential functions
Use office equipment including a calculator, telephone, computer
(monitor, keyboard and mouse), printer, fax and copier
This position receives regular review of objectives
