USAA is seeking a hard-working privacy advisor senior for our San
Antonio or Plano, TX, Phoenix, AZ, Colorado Springs, CO, Tampa, FL,
or Chesapeake, VA facilities. This role can also be hired 100%
remote, work from home.
This individual contributor works collaboratively with key team
members throughout USAA to support and provide consultation on a
variety of Privacy focused initiatives. Candidate will work
directly with the Cloud Governance processes, performing Privacy
Impact Assessments and Data Protection Impact Assessments for
cloud-based solutions. This position will contribute to the
strategic direction of the Enterprise Privacy Office in providing
tools and technology to facilitate impact assessments within the
lines of business. Provides consultation on new / existing products
and services through a firm understanding of the constantly
evolving Privacy regulatory environment. Applies industry standard
methodologies for implementing privacy focused solutions consistent
with Enterprise Privacy Policy and Standards.

Job Requirements
Guides and facilitates the development, implementation, management
and oversight of enterprise privacy programs and processes that
support effective risk and compliance management in the first line
of defense. Supports the enterprise Privacy Office and serves as a
subject matter authority for privacy to include federal and state
regulations. Partners and collaborates with the lines of business,
Compliance and Risk Management, Audit Services, Legal, and
Regulators to support privacy-based initiatives. Provides training,
guidance and oversight to employees within the various business
areas that are accountable for adhering to USAA's privacy
standards, policies and guidelines.
Primary Responsibilities:
Identifies and leads existing and emerging risks that stem from
business activities and the job role.
Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively
identified, measured, monitored, and controlled.
Follows written risk and compliance policies, standards, and
procedures for business activities.
Coordinates, gathers and analyzes data trends and responds
accordingly to multiple lines of business and/or Enterprise
specific privacy requirements and requests. Advises the business on
how to strengthen and lead their privacy program to ensure
alignment and integration with the Enterprise Privacy Office, Legal
and Risk and Compliance. Applies industry knowledge of the
financial services industry and privacy requirements, policies,
laws, and regulations to daily work.
Performs research, analysis and reporting to identify, resolve, and
explain complex cross-CoSA privacy issues and incidents. Gathers
information to support business analysis, resolve issues and
incidents, and identify points of partner concern.
Identifies operational inefficiencies and potential privacy risks
and in partnership with the business and other collaborators
recommends solutions to improve operational processes to mitigate
risk.
Ensures all internally developed, and commercially available
business applications meet or exceed privacy standards and include
adequate and measurable controls.
Performs critical business operations or systems applications
processes, procedures, and incident remediation action plans to
ensure appropriate escalations in support of data incidents or
other privacy related matters.
Assists the business with translating privacy related control
deficiencies into practical plans and provides recommendations to
minimize privacy exposure and strengthen the overall control
environment.
Reviews business documents and forms to ensure compliance with
enterprise privacy policies and regulatory and legal requirements.
Guides the business, Compliance, Risk Management, Audit Services,
and Legal on strategic and tactical responses to internal and
external audit questions and analysis.
Serves as a liaison between the line of business and the Enterprise
Privacy Office.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree; OR 4 years of related privacy, compliance, risk
or regulatory experience (in addition to the minimum years of
experience required) may be substituted in lieu of degree.
6 years of operations experience in a relevant functional area to
include financial services, insurance, banking, investment,
information technology, legal or other related operational areas
that support privacy/risk/compliance initiatives within the
business.
4 years of privacy, compliance, risk or regulatory related
experience with accountability for complex projects, processes or
policies.
Proven knowledge of relevant regulatory compliance, industry
regulations and regulatory data sources.
Demonstrated analytical, organizational and problem-solving
abilities requiring a high attention to detail.
Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate and
implement among cross-functional teams, including all levels of the
organization and with external regulatory agencies.
Preferred Experience:
Experience performing and developing Privacy Impact
Assessments.
Experience performing and developing Data Protection Impact
Assessments.
Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/US) or Certified
Data Privacy Solutions Engineer through ISACA.
Well versed in Privacy Enhancing Technologies

Compensation:
USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and
establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid
within the salary range based on your experience and market
position. The salary range for this position is: $80,200.00 -
144,500.00 * .
Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall
corporate and individual performance or at the discretion of the
USAA Board of Directors.
Geographical Differential : Geographic pay differential is
additional pay provided to eligible employees working in locations
where market pay levels are above the national average.
Shift premium will be addressed on an individual basis for
applicable roles that are consistently scheduled for non-core
hours.
