Job Description:
Under the general supervision of the Corporate Recruiting
Manager, the Talent Acquisition Specialist is responsible for
recruitment and employment processing and will remotely support
multiple hiring managers and regions.
Responsibilities
Sources, recruits, and hires primarily nonexempt and some exempt
applicants in a very high-volume and demanding environment.
Partners with hiring managers to achieve staffing goals while
insuring applicants meet qualifications.
Sources and identifies candidates through referrals, networking,
job postings, resume searches and reviewing applications.
Develops sourcing contacts and maintains relationships with
colleges, technical schools, driver training schools, alumni
groups, military organizations, diversity groups and other public
organizations to find and attract applicants.
Actively identifies and may participate in local community
activities and job fairs to promote candidate interest and Saia
name recognition.
Works with hiring managers to identify skill and culture fit
required for each position.
Monitors job openings for internal candidates and insures internal
transfer processes and procedures are followed.
Reviews applications/resumes to match prospective employee's work
history, education, job skills and salary requirements with our
current job openings.
Performs primarily phone screening interviews. Utilizes behavioral
interviewing techniques to accurately screen and assess
candidates.
Refers qualified applicants to hiring managers for job openings.
Follows up on candidate interviews with hiring manager and obtains
feedback on candidate quality.
Orders background check reports and secures required documentation
during application process. Assesses reports and makes decision on
whether a job offer can be made or not.
Generates and sends candidate reject letters.
Responsible for timely identification of assessing hiring
issues.
Accurately reports on status of filling positions, identifies
hiring barriers, implements plan to resolve, escalates issues not
resolved timely and is accountable for staffing goals.
May provide training and coaching to hiring managers in appropriate
interviewing techniques, applicant selection and company hiring
processes and procedures.
40% travel between terminals required.
Performs other duties as required.
Preferred Qualifications
College Degree in Human Resources, Marketing or Business or other
related
2+ years of Recruitment experience
SPHR or PHR Certification
Experience ordering and interpreting consumer reports
Can successfully multi-task, meet deadlines in a high volume
environment
Skilled at building effective relationships to partner with hiring
managers
Knowledge of MS Office
