Michael Baker International's Water Group provides innovative consulting, planning, and engineering solutions for the entire spectrum of the water cycle. We have proven experience in providing a full range of professional services from scientific and technical analysis, concept through design, and construction support services. Protection and management of water resources start at the watershed level and follow the movement of water through urban and agricultural areas, streams, lakes and reservoirs, water distribution systems, wastewater collection systems, and water/wastewater treatment plants.
A Water Intern may be involved with any number of tasks. Some days will be in the office and others may be in the field. Various tasks would include:
Provide support for Water and Sewer studies, completing As-Built review, providing CAD support, or completing a field investigation.
Complete calculations to determine water and sewer demands and projections into the future.
Provide alignments for proposed pipelines
Review construction documents and compare them to standards.
Summarize findings of a study in a report and create supporting exhibits.
Complete fieldwork by gathering project site information, inspecting a construction site, providing daily construction reports, or identifying assets.
Review and summarize permits or correspondence from regulatory agencies.

Candidate must be enrolled and pursuing a B.S. or M.S. in Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering at an accredited university or college.
Minimum of 3 years of completed post-secondary coursework in student's field of study.
Minimum 2.5 overall GPA on a 4.0 scale.
Good writing and communication skills
Proficiency with AutoCAD and MS Office.
Capable to use, or learn GIS and Hydraulic models.
