Job Description:

The UX Design Manager is responsible for leading the team that is focused on implementing designs which make human-computer interactions intuitive, easy, adaptive, consistent, and relevant to the consumer and business goals. The ideal candidate combines skills in team management, user research, information architecture, usability testing, interaction design and strong visual design to create compelling experiences for our clients and their customers.

The candidate will be responsible for translating the requirements for a product's optimal functionality into interactive solutions. This entails the incorporation of market research and psychology, design of the human-computer interface for optimal effectiveness, inclusion of easily navigable content, graphic/information design and finishing for maximum aesthetic appeal.

This is a remote position.

Basic Qualification:

  • 7+ years of relevant experience as a Design Manager, UX designer, interaction designer, information architect, software/graphic designer, or similar role
  • Strong expertise in producing functional low/high fidelity visual design prototypes in Figma, Sketch, Invision or similar design tool
  • Demonstrable experience translating design concepts and constraints into elegant and intuitive high-fidelity wireframes, interaction mockups, user experience flows, and functional UI prototypes.
  • Experience working in agile/product scrum or a digital agency environment
  • You're a great storyteller - verbally, visually, in writing, and behaviorally and have the ability to generate and communicate your research, conceptual ideas, attractive designs, and design rationale; all within a structured user-centered design process.
  • Thrives in an environment that requires independent self-direction. Proactively updates colleagues on active initiatives. Completes most tasks with minimal guidance.
  • You are a natural problem solver with the ability to thrive on juggling multiple demands, prioritizing multiple concurrent UX/UI initiatives across multiple teams, delivering under tight timelines, and adapting quickly to change.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal, and analytical skills. Ability to communicate effectively with all stakeholders, including technical developers, marketers, business leaders, and end users.
  • Experience moving your designs through an agile development process.
  • Working knowledge of essential front-end technologies HTML/CSS/JavaScript, Material Design, Bootstrap
  • You are able to show off an eye-popping portfolio of your recent and relevant UX/UI work, demonstrating high standards of aesthetic and interactive skills

Other requirements:

  • Experience working on B2B, B2B2C and D2C platforms for the web, enterprise applications, software which leverage emergent technologies, consumer appliances and/or mobile devices
  • Active collaboration with the product owners, UX peers, developers, business stakeholders and brand marketing are an essential part of this role
  • Facilitate design thinking workshops as needed to support the overall product UX roadmap and vision
  • Data driven design and user advocacy is highly desirable for this role
  • Thorough understanding of user-centered design methodologies and processes, including but not limited to persona creation, journey maps, wireframing, usability testing, etc.
  • Creativity, problem-solving, and attention to detail
  • Strong conceptualization ability, strong visual communication ability, drawing skills and sketchbook technique
  • Ability to create low-fi wireframes leading up to best in class high-fidelity visual design comps
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-managed and motivated

Preferred Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree, with a major in Human-Computer Interaction, Mobile Computing, Graphic Design, Computer Science, Web Development, Software Engineering or a related field of study.
  • Be familiar with Adobe Creative Suite and other UI design tools
  • Any UX certifications are a bonus (NNG, HFI etc.)
