(DBT) group oversees the creation, development, and production of
live-action and animated television content for children,
teenagers, and families under the Disney brand through the Disney
Television Animation studio. This content is aired on the group's
various cable channels, such as Disney Channel, Disney Junior,
Disney XD, and the Disney streaming platform. DBT develops original
series, movies, and other content that align with Disney's
family-friendly brand image and appeal to its target audience.
These television properties could include distribution deals,
marketing strategies, and brand management. DBT has a strong use of
commercial and custom software technologies to create its products.
The use of technology, engineering, development techniques, and
software is essential to its production operations and workflows.
We’re looking for an intellectually curious, business-savvy,
analytical powerhouse to join the Disney Branded Television
Technology team as a Senior Production Systems Reliability
Engineer. In this role, you will develop and support cloud
solutions for DBT productions and development. This is a Project
Hire position with no guarantee of permanent placement.
Responsibilities: The Senior Production Systems Reliability
Engineer (SPSRE) is responsible for automating production
application processes in support of the production used by DBT to
produce its digital production products. This includes the
following: Deliver cloud native (AWS, Azure, GCP) and in-house
infrastructure solutions for a wide range of applications.
Responsible for the architecture, deployment, and support of CI/CD
pipelines. Migrating applications and servers between local and
cloud platform deployments. Manage, configure, and implement tools
such as Terraform, Helm, GitLab, Docker, and Kubernetes. Develop
software to automate, monitor, and maintain deployed
infrastructure. Work closely with product developers to ensure new
features have proper operational support and maintainability.
Responsible for implementing complex solutions to provide hosting
services and platforms to various development teams and working in
partnership with the team to help drive the standardization and
operational support of infrastructure solutions to support the
firm’s infrastructure needs. Create, build, and deliver new
technologies or platforms. This will include consultation,
designing, building, and supporting development pipelines,
automating infrastructure and operations, creating telemetry for
monitoring, engineering high reliability, and reinforcing best
practices to secure our company and guest data. Design and
development of front-end applications as needed for automation and
tools. Work closely with the Software Development group to manage
and develop tools for managing and automating hardware and software
resources. Generate reports and statistics for various systems
using various analytical tools. Automate and support physical and
virtual environments for web and application servers for both
production and development. Participates in researching, testing
and implementing optimized technical solutions for our production
technology infrastructure and user base. Provides 3rd tier,
extended support to the Systems Engineering, Support Engineering
and Software Development groups. Performs technical administration
functions and other miscellaneous technical special projects as
assigned by department management. Influences the direction of
product and service development. Implement and maintain Unreal
Engine / Perforce infrastructure on-prem and in the Cloud.
Qualifications: A minimum of 5 years of experience supporting
high-end graphics workflows. A minimum of 5 years of experience
supporting (advanced troubleshooting and configuration experience)
Linux / UNIX, Mac OS, and Microsoft Windows-based systems in a
network environment. A minimum of 5 years of experience working
with network administration utilities. Strong Linux/Unix/Windows
administration background. Previous work experience in a similar
discipline (Cloud Engineer, Automation Engineer, Full Stack
Engineer). Strong experience with scripting and programming
languages for Web App Development (Python, PowerShell, React,
Reach, Rust, bash, etc.) Ability to use a wide variety of
open-source technologies. Cloud management platforms and services
(experience with AWS, Azure, and Google GCP). This includes cloud
migration strategies. Experience with CI/CD tools (GitLab, Jenkins,
etc.) and containerization/orchestration tools (Docker/Kubernetes).
Experience with Virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V, Docker)
automation. Experience with configuration management tools such as
Ansible, Terraform, or an equivalent product. Experience with
infrastructure as code workflows in Terraform, CloudFormation,
Ansible, etc. Experience with MySQL and SQL databases. Experience
with Load Balancers (NginX, F5, AWS types). Ability to work in a
fast-paced, production-critical environment. Knowledge of Active
Directory and Identity Management services and their application
integration (IDP, SAML, LDAP). Experience with creative
applications: ToonBoom, Maya, and Nuke are a plus. Knowledge of
pipeline automation and rendering with AWS Deadline. Able to
communicate technical information effectively, both written and
verbally. Must have a strong customer service orientation and have
the ability to work with a diverse user community. Experience with
Unreal Game Engine in a live-action and/or production environment.
Experience with Perforce at an administrative level. Education:
Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline or equivalent work

hiring range for this position in California is $141,900.00 -
$190,300.00 per year based on a 40 hour work week. The amount of
hours scheduled per week may vary based on business needs. The base
pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and
also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region,
job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of
the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical,
financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and
