Payroll / Accounting Clerk TAG is an Administrative Services Organization or ASO. For many employers, the task of "employing" is more overwhelming than running their core business. We are looking for an organized, efficient Accounting Clerk with an eye for detail and high level of accuracy. Accounting Clerks can expect to handle communications with vendors, clients, and internal departments- accounting and payroll, assist with record maintenance, issue checks and basic administrative tasks. Ideal candidates are sharp with attention to detail and courteous with strong computer skills; equipped with an established foundation of basic accounting and payroll skills. To succeed as an Accounting Clerk, you should be a skilled multi-tasker with excellent time management, computer, and communication skills. Candidates should understand and abide by all accounting / payroll procedure and principles; have a commitment to serve and be a team player. Responsibilities: * Performing basic office tasks, including answering phones, responding to emails, processing mail, filing, etc. * Data entry ensuring that records are complete and current. * Recording information, processing, and filing forms. * Preparing checks, confirming data with clients, researching and resolving discrepancies. * Abiding by all company procedures and accounting principles. * Responding appropriately to vendor, client, and internal requests. Requirements: * High School Diploma is required, more education and experience is preferred. * Comprehensive knowledge of Accounting / payroll procedures and principles 1-2 years. * High level of accuracy and efficiency. * Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. * Courteous with strong customer service skills. * Strong computer literacy and strong typing skills, experience with accounting software may be required. * High attention to detail, excellent math skills. * Validating employee information and confirming payroll data into the system. * Answering employees' questions and concerns regarding payroll. * Calculating payable hours, commissions, bonuses, taxes, and deductions. * Knowledge of payroll software is beneficial.
