Position Summary/Purpose: The purpose of this role is to serve as an ambassador (organizationally & relationally) to prospective students who attend the overnight, expenses-paid-for, Discover GCU trip. This includes weekly event operations, presenting trained information, sharing of personal and positive GCU experiences, and providing a positive and safe environment for guests. Primary Responsibilities/Accountabilities/Essential Functions: Support and promote GCU’s Doctrinal Statement. Execute weekly event operations, procedures, policies, and protocols with absolute excellence. Present on trained information to groups of guests. Provide positive and safe experience for guests. Ensure inventory is adequate per each event. Ensure rooms are adequately cleaned and prepared for events. Additional Tasks as assigned. Equipment Used and Responsibility: Microsoft 365 Suite Point of Sales (POS) systems SkyTouch Group Me Qualifications: Must be available to work a minimum of 15 hours per week and have open availability to consistently work weekends Experience with youth, preferably in a camp environment. Flexibility and enthusiasm are a must. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Outgoing and comfortable with public speaking in front of various groups. Campus living and extracurricular activities within GCU strongly preferred to be able to provide first-hand experience to visitors. Experience/Education: Grand Canyon University is committed to a student first policy. Therefore, all applicants must meet the following eligibility requirements to be considered for student employment: Enrolled at GCU as a full-time student in a bachelor’s program. Retain a 2.0 GPA as a Bachelor level student. Maintain good financial and academic (SAP) standing with the University. You may be subject to termination if you fall below the minimum requirements.
