Job Title:R7196 Senior Manager - Strategic Sourcing - Team LeadLocation:CityScapeWhat you'll do:The Strategic Sourcing Professional -Team Lead will support various business lines during the selection phase of new suppliers\\vendors, or related products and services. The role will administer the full 7-Step Sourcing methodology and be directly responsible for facilitating Requests for Information (RFI), Requests for Proposal (RFP), and Requests for Quote (RFQ) in accordance with company procedures. The position will interface with other Vendor Management services during onboarding and risk assessment services, Enterprise Project Management, Legal, Financial Planning, and Accounts Payable. You will analyze spend categories, collaborate with business sponsors in developing "make vs. buy" strategies, facilitate large spend highly visible RFP events, redline business, price, and service level contract terms, and host supplier business reviews for Critical and High-Risk vendors. As a new function, reporting directly to the Director of VMS, you will help architect a formal procurement and category sourcing function within VMS. You will assess indirect spend patterns and execute cost-optimization and/or other efficiency levers within the existing supplier registry.What we are looking for: --- Execute Sourcing Events and Supplier Selection: Primarily lead RFP sourcing events in collaboration with various business sponsors or joint sponsors. Develop and bring best practices into the RFP process. Host RFP events such as service\\product demonstrations, question-answer sessions, elimination round conversations, and contract award scenarios. Leverage RFI to learn new market offerings and capabilities. Support project budgetary assumptions through RFQ. --- Optimize Cost and Develop Saving Strategies: Working with the VMS Director and Financial Planning, lead and own the blueprint for a value-add savings methodology impacting the Bank's operating and capital expenses. Create favorability within LOB budgets and define a process to measure and track savings value inclusive of hard P&L savings, avoidance, savings wrap, and other value-add. View opportunities through the lens of Total Cost of Ownership (TCO). --- Lead Supplier Contract Negotiations: Facilitate contract review and negotiation between the Supplier, Business Sponsors, and Legal. Redline general business terms for SLA performance, pricing, discounts, risk of loss, and payment. Develop incentive-based rebate programs. Act as a counterpoint to the supplier account team and encourage or remediate suppliers through periodic business review forums. --- Partner with Business Sponsors: Assist line of business (LOB) supplier sponsors. Provide advisory services around selection and negotiation strategies. Provide spend intelligence and optimization opportunities within a sub-set of suppliers or categories of spend. Help the LOB define periodic business review objectives, and performance scorecards to guide such business reviews. --- Partner with Supportive Stakeholders: Act as a primary liaison with Supplier Account Teams, VMS Risk Assessment, Project Management, Legal, and Finance. Assist in budgetary costing for proposed business cases. Be an Individual Leader: Mentor, educate, and share best practice approaches with other levels on the team. Be comfortable in a highly visible role and a proponent of challenge or change. Perform other duties as assigned, including assisting with regulatory compliance risk assessments and related infrastructure enhancements.What you need to have:

  • Bachelor's degree in one of the following: Supply Chain Management, Business, or Finance.
  • 10+ years' direct experience in a strategic sourcing or procurement role is a must. Previous consulting experience standing up value-add procurement functions a plus.
  • Must have significant experience with facilitating sourcing events that exceed $1M of addressable indirect spend in general areas such as contingent labor, staffing agency, employee benefits, facilities\\MRO, office supply, virtual card, etc., or IT category planning in hardware, software, network, managed development services strongly desired.
  • Subject Matter Expert in Technology or Cloud-based SaaS/IaaS/PaaS a plus. Prefer experience in Volume Licensing, Enterprise Agreements, AWS\\Azure, IBM Passport, Oracle, or managed IT service operations in application development or help desk break-fix.
  • Must have a demonstrable track record of operating expense run-rate savings (hard savings) based on confirmed spend baselines. Must be comfortable working with contract terms and Legal personnel during redline negotiations.
  • Extensive hands-on experience in any leading Supplier Management Platform (i.e. Oracle Procurement, ARIBA. Coupa, JAGGAER, Basware, Zycus, etc.). Advanced skills in computer productivity programs (Windows, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook. PowerPoint)
  • Proven track record of establishing a proactive, constructive dialogue and partnering with professionals internally and externally. Excellent oral and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal staff and external customers.
  • Ability to work multiple concurrent projects independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.
  • Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary internal and external customer service
  • Comfortable using financial/quantitative data and power-point presentations to leadership
  • Strong attention to detail, adaptable and flexible.
