diet upgrades Description: We are seeking a Speech Language
Pathologist for an inpatient and outpatient setting in an acute
care hospital. The role involves working with patients recovering
from oncology-related surgeries. You will be responsible for
assessing swallowing capability, oxygen, and breathing after
surgery. Cognitive rehabilitation assessments will focus mainly on
chemo-related challenges. You will be required to perform modified
barium swallow studies and interpret results for treatment.
Collaborating with other disciplines, such as dieticians, for diet
upgrades is a necessary part of the role. The average caseload will
range from 6 to 9 patients per day. This position entails working a
3x8 schedule, with potential for a 4th shift if needed, from
Tuesday to Thursday. Candidates must have experience working
independently as the clinician will be working most of the time
alone. Experience with degenerative diseases, dysarthria,
dysphagia, and other related disorders is required. Knowledge of
various assessment tools and documentation practices is essential.
Candidates should possess strong interpersonal skills and be
capable of patient and family education. Familiarity with
electronic documentation systems is a necessity. Requirements
