Salary: $71,260 (DOE) Job Description The WIC Supervisor
/Registered Dietitian (RD) is responsible for the day-to-day
management of the NATIVE HEALTH (NH) Supplemental Nutrition Program
for Women, Infant’s, and Children (WIC) under the direction of the
Community Health and Wellness (CHW) Director. The WIC Supervisor/RD
will counsel all High-Risk WIC Clients and approve Special Formulas
for WIC clients. Will document visits according to SOAP format in
the Shared Tribal Automated Reporting System (STARS). The WIC
Supervisor/RD will conduct classes and as needed follow the full
range of CNW activities at an advanced level. This position follows
all local agency and ITCA WIC program policies and procedures,
assists the Director in program operations and provides supervision
and support to agency WIC staff. This position requires maintaining
a positive working relationship with the WIC staff, other NH staff
and clientele KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES: Clinical Leadership & Nutrition

Outreach & Service Expansion Organizational Support KNOWLEDGE,
SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Knowledge of WIC program in general and of
program planning concepts, and practices. Knowledge of sound
nutritional practices derived from didactic learning and
experience. Knowledge of Obesity/diabetes and maternal/child
nutrition. A good understanding of people, and the ability to
provide nutrition education face to face and in groups with good
sensitivity and awareness of individual feelings and perceptions.
Skilled in interviewing and communicating to elicit information and
gain cooperation from clients and staff in a nondiscriminatory way.
Ability to work with minority population of varied ethnic groups
and having the cultural sensitivity when dealing with each ethnic
group. Having empathy, being resourceful to find alternative ways
to help and making every client feel welcome, important and cared
for every day. Ability to supervise, mentor, and coach personnel
and provide a positive team-oriented environment. Ability to deal
with irate and belligerent clients. Proficient with computer-based
applications such as MS 365 Suite and Adobe. Experience with STARS
is preferred. Ability to work independently and willingness to take
initiative in addressing concerns and issues. Knowledge of the
cultural and social backgrounds of the Native American and other
minority population. Ability to establish program goals and
objectives and to assess programs in relation to goals. Skills in
written and verbal communication. Ability to provide written and
oral presentations. Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE/REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree in
nutrition or Dietetics required. Registered Dietitian License
required. Minimum of two years of supervisory and mentoring staff
experience is preferred. Must be a people-oriented person, positive
and pro-growth ready to take challenges, with experience in
nutritional counseling of minority populations. Must be flexible to
work at any location as needed, e.g. clinics and outreach. Standard
Employment Requirements Must possess a valid and unrestricted
Arizona driver’s license (within 30 days of hire if applicant is
from out-of-state) with no DUI/DWI or reckless driving convictions
in the last five years. No more than two at-fault accidents in the
last three years. Must maintain a valid Arizona driver’s license
during employment. Must be insurable under NATIVE HEALTH’s
liability auto policy. Must pass a criminal background check and
obtain a Class I Fingerprint Clearance Card within the initial
ninety (90) calendar days of employment and retain a valid card
while employed with NATIVE HEALTH. Must pass substance abuse
testing upon employment and submit to random testing during
employment. Must provide an updated immunization (IZ) record at the
time of employment. Must have a current (within 12 months)
Tuberculosis (TB) skin report upon employment and provide an annual
update. Must obtain Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within
(90) calendar days of employment and maintain certification during
employment. Additional Information Native Health complies with all
