- Employment Type: Staff Assists nursing service personnel with a
variety of patient care activities and related services necessary
in caring for the personal needs and comfort of patients. Assists
with personal hygiene, takes vital signs, and changes bed linens.
May serve and collect food trays, provide for between-meal
nourishment, and clean, sterilize, store, and prepare other
supplies. Has knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and

Position Summary Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, the
Patient Care Technician provides individualized, culture-specific
patient care by attending to the personal needs and comfort of
patients. Assists the professional or licensed nurse as delegated
in tasks requiring less technical skills. Participates in shift and
bedside report, performs phlebotomist duty, clerical/reception unit
clerk duties as assigned, and assists in promoting an organized,
efficient, smoothly functioning unit. Participates and supports
regional, facility, department, and unit initiatives. Special
Skills: Excellent customer service skills; basic computer skills;
high level of attention to detail. Strong interpersonal and
communication skills to interact positively and effectively with
patients, visitors, and health care team members. Knowledge of
patient rights, medical terminology, aseptic/sterile technique, and
infection control best practices. Ability to work under deadlines.
THE PATIENT CARE TECH STEPDOWN FULL TIME DAYS CANDIDATE WILL
POSSESS THE FOLLOWING EDUCATION, LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS, AND
EXPERIENCE. Minimum Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
GED. Minimum experience: Must be able to complete blood draws
independently. Preferred experience: One year of experience in an
acute care setting. Required courses training: EKG training in
selected units. Preferred certifications/registration: CNA/LNA from
