Role:The Medical Assistant 2 is responsible for providing support
to corresponding clinics by assisting patients and their family
members before, during and after a doctor's visit. Medical
assistants work alongside doctors, nurses and other clinical
personnel, performing functions that help the clinic run
smoothly.ScheduleThis is a full-time position, Monday through
Friday, 40 hours per week.What Your Primary Responsibilities Would
Be:--- Provides coverage in primary care for up to three-month
rotations annually.--- Train other medical assistants in
policy/procedure of primary care clinic and other clinics.---
Prepares patients for examination, including obtaining vital signs,
patient history, documents chief complaint, and assists physician
during treatment, examinations, and testing of patients.---
Administers and documents vaccines as ordered by the provider.---
Preparation of patient charts in advance of appointments according
to clinic guidelines and sterilizes equipment.--- Assists
physicians, nurse practitioners, residents, licensed nursing
personnel and/or clinical staff as needed.--- Obtains lab specimen
and fills out requisitions completely and accurately.--- Review
patient medications, and calls in patient prescriptions as
needed.--- Ensure all related reports, labs and information are
scanned and available in patient's medical records prior to
appointment.The Successful Candidate Will Possess:--- High school
diploma or equivalent required--- 1+ years' medical assistant
experience--- Medical Assistant diploma or certificate of
completion--- Bilingual Spanish/English required--- Knowledge of
the heath care field, medical terminology, and medical office
protocol.--- Proven ability to train others.--- Ability to
multitask and prioritize workflow.--- Able to apply a
solution-oriented approach to solving problems.DMG's Employee
Health Requirements:As a condition of employment, District Medical
Group (DMG) requires each employee to remain compliant with
mandatory employee health (EH) standards. TB screening, Hep B, MMR,
Varicella, Influenza, and Covid Immunizations or approved
declinations are required for this role.
