Overview
Overview:
The Director of Safety and Compliance manages the safety and
compliance teams and leads all related programs for the entire
division. - This is a senior leadership position leading our safety
strategy efforts, with dual reporting into the SVP/Head of the
Division and the VP of Safety. -

inclusive culture. Transdev Alternative Service is a division of
Transdev that provides a broad range of services for our clients
autonomous driving testing and development efforts, as well as
their autonomous vehicle commercial services
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
--- - - - - - - - Communicates company programs, rules, and tools
related to safety
--- - - - - - - - Works closely and strengthens relationships with
client's and internal departments
--- - - - - - - - Works and builds relationships with client's
points of contact; collaborate on definition and implementation of
safety and compliance programs
--- - - - - - - - Develops unique safety protocols to ensure
consistent and safe operations
--- - - - - - - - Manages the division safety and compliance
department
--- - - - - - - - Manages all aspects of safety training;
coordinate with the training team for implementation
--- - - - - - - - Manages the division's fatigue management policy
- and responsible to improving the overall program training and
administration
--- - - - - - - - Develops strategies on workers comp
administration to ensure safety and long-term health of our
employees
--- - - - - - - - Hires and manages safety staff or vendor;
develops and updates safety policies and processes
--- - - - - - - - Hires and manages compliance staff or vendor;
develops and updates compliance policies and processes
--- - - - - - - - Ensures that all accidents are ethically and
properly investigated and filed with the company's third party
administrator
--- - - - - - - - Ensures that all security incidents are properly
reported and investigated
--- - - - - - - - Ensures that all reporting and risk management
tools are up to date and correct at all times
--- - - - - - - - Conducts evaluations and inspections to mitigate
risk and minimize risrk of loss potential
--- - - - - - - - Coordinates the activities of workers'
compensation, general liability and vehicle liability insurance
carriers and insurance consultants as it affects safety and loss
control; makes recommendations to the upper leadership to help
limit loss
--- - - - - - - - Conducts audits, evaluations and inspections to
mitigate risk and minimize risk of loss potential; ensures that
safety inspections are properly scheduled, carried out, monitored,
acted upon, and documented
--- - - - - - - - Ensures contract compliance with all applicable
federal, state, local, and company regulations; ensures that
related record keeping and reporting requirements are met and
maintained; provides support in implementing the approved
recommendations
--- - - - - - - - Ensures that safety meetings are held on a
regular basis and documentation of the meetings is properly
maintained; oversees the system safety program to ensure compliance
with Federal Transportation Administration requirements
--- - - - - - - - Coordinates and ensures compliance with substance
abuse testing program using Federal and Company standards
--- - - - - - - - Coaches and motivates staff; provides guidance
and direction on problems and issues; delegates works assignments
considering employee skills and development needs as required.
--- - - - - - - - Maintains confidentiality of all information
--- - - - - - - - All other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Required Education and Experience:
--- - - - -Experience with client relationship management in
safety/operations - - - - - - -and building cross functional
partnerships and trust
--- - - - - - Undergraduate College Diploma preferred
--- - - - - - - - 10+ years experience in Safety and Compliance
leadership positions in - - - - -transportation or similar
industry. A combination of education and - - - - - experience may
be substituted
--- - - - - - - - Proficiency with common office applications (i.e.
MS office, Gmail, Gsuite)
Required Knowledge Skills and Abilities (KSAs):
--- - - - - - - - Must have excellent attention to detail and be
able to quickly and concisely describe their thoughts;
--- - - - - - - - Capable of responding quickly and simultaneously
to multiple scenarios;
--- - - - - - - - Capable of solving complex problem;
--- - - - - - - - Adapt quickly to new and developing
technology;
--- - - - - - - - Cross-functional verbal and written communication
and issue escalation;
--- - - - - - - - Excellent written and verbal communication
skills; and
--- - - - - - - - Must be self-motivated and demonstrate good
judgment, in fast-paced, high stress environments.
Other Requirements:
--- - - - - - - - Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up
to 45 pounds.
--- - - - - - - - Travel 10-20% of the time, mostly within
region
