Field Operations Manager
JOB DESCRIPTIONAs a Field Operations Manager employed by Alff Construction, you will coordinate all work performed by Alff employees for your assigned region. You will monitor the progress of projects with clients while ensuring compliance with industry and client standards. You will supervise employee operations in landscaping, sweeping, snow removal and other various interior and exterior construction trades, educate staff on safety practices, and evaluate employee performance. You should be detail-oriented, hands-on, and knowledgeable of trade equipment, performance methods, safety, standards, and regulations. You will demonstrate exceptional leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. The Field Operations Manager reports to the Regional Manager.Responsibilities Include:

  • Assign work to and supervise crew leads in maintenance and reactive work within assigned territory in a timely manner
  • Develop and submit proposals for new projects, keeping budgets, costs, and margins in mind
  • Coordinate with clients on Alff-performed job sites
  • Coordinate assigned reactive and recurring work activities, proposals, and schedules with Territory Vendor Managers and Regional Sales staff
  • Manage labor staffing within territory
    • Manage and delegate maintenance of Alff-owned equipment within territory
    • Manage, plan, and forecast staff hours and overtime needs
    • Evaluate the performance of staff, identify, and execute performance plans, and conduct disciplinary action as needed
    • Handle emergencies appropriately according to established procedures; prepare and file incident reports
    • Work with peers in other regions to improve company-wide self-performance
      • Manage Alff facilities within territory including maintenance, improvements, and staffRequired Skills/Abilities:
        • Proven experience as a supervisor
        • Sound knowledge of interior/exterior property maintenance, industry standards, and pricing
        • Working knowledge of vehicles, construction tools, and equipment
          • Outstanding leadership, project management, and problem-solving skills
          • Excellent organizational and communication skills
          • Confidence to thrive under pressure
          • Valid Operator's LicenseEducation and Experience:
            • 3+ years experience as a project manager, preferably in similar field
            • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Construction Science, Civil Engineering, or related field is preferred

              • Visits to project sites will be required on a regular basis
