Job Description:
I. Position Function: This is a licensed position, that
represents all outpatient departments.Directs and supervises all
aspects of Outpatient Services.She/he is accountable to problem
solve for the care of the patient and to initiate immediate,
effective action to maintain patient safety.Fiscally responsible
for productivity, meeting budgetary guidelines.Responsible to meet
regulatory requirements related to the provision of services for
therapeutic activities in outpatient.II. Job Relationships:
Maintains a collaborative relationship with the Board, Leadership
and Medical Staff.Supervises the following staff by job category:
Outpatient Staff: Therapists/RN/Outpatient
Coordinators/Transportation Coordinator/PRN StaffCommunicates with
physicians/director/charge nurse/co-workers, as appropriate about
changes in patient's clinical condition including results of
assessment and treatment modalities. Communicates with the Board,
leadership and medical staff regarding patient safety, provision of
therapeutic activity services in outpatient, performance or quality
improvement efforts.Communicates with President regarding safety of
all who enter the Outpatient campus, budgetary and fiscal
responsibilites and the provision of quality care provided to our
patients.Reports serious incidents and/or severe breaches in the
quality of care to the hospital President, risk manager, or quality
director.Serves as a resource to all members of the leadership and
health care team.III. Authority: To problem solve patient care
issues and initiate resolution through contact with chain of
command. To direct and provide safe, therapeutic treatment to our
behavioral health patients in outpatient.To utilize non punitive
and adjust culture during all opportunities for quality
improvement.To facilitate accountability and performance to
department staff related to the provision of services provided.IV.
A. Responsibilities/Essential Functions: Demonstrates an
understanding of statues regulating the practice of therapeutic
activities and functions in accordance with TJC, CMS and Arizona
state agencies.Follows all safety and infection prevention
guidelines.Implements hospital policies established by St. Luke's
Behavioral Health Center.Keeps senior leadership apprised of
administrative and clinical issues.Demonstrates leadership skills
oriented towards quality care delivered efficiently with
appropriate utilization contributing to the overall smooth
operation of the department and organization.Participates in
performance improvement activities.Maintains fiscal and budgetary
departmental standards.Demonstrates an ability to be flexible,
organized and function under stressful/emergency situations. B.
Responsibilities/Non-Essential Functions: Performs related duties
as directed by the PresidentV. Reporting Requirements: Reports to
the the PresidentReports serious incidents and/or severe breaches
in the quality of care to the hospital President, risk manager, and
quality director.VI. Accountability: Is accountable for maintaining
the confidentiality and security of all hospital-related,
medical-staff related, and patient-related data and information.Is
accountable for abiding by St. Luke's Behavioral Health Center
policies and procedures.Is accountable for directing, monitoring
and implementing quality patient care in outpatient setting.Is
accountable to inform the hospital President of any significant
event that affects the organization.VII. Qualifications: Minimum
Education/Experience: Completed Master's degree from an accredited
University in behavioral health field. Current License as LPC or
LCSW Must have experience in management at upper level of hospital
or outpatient organizaion.Experience in supervision of a
professional staff. Minimum skills/abilities: Proven leadership
ability in clinical practiceAble to communicate verbally and in
writing in the English language. Additional languages
preferredBasic computer knowledge Certification/Licensure: Current
license from the Arizona Board of Behavioral Health
ExaminersBiannual CPR certificationAnnual Management of Aggressive
Behavior CertificationAnnual Education requirements through Steward
UniversityCurrent Fingerprint Card Training: Successful completion
of degree from accredited University Special Qualifications:
Licensed by the AZ Board of Behavioral Health Examiners
