Overview

Responsibilities
The Patient Logistics Nurse Manager oversees the transfer center agents including Registered Nurses within the transfer center. This department is responsible for transfer center activities across the Southwest Division of Dignity Health, and this role provides 24/7 managerial oversight of the department. -The Patient Logistics Nurse Manager collaborates with customers and staff to ensure efficient and effective communication with others, including but not limited to: hospital administration, nursing leadership or their designee, medical staff, physicians and transportation vendors to ensure patients are assigned rooms in an expedient manner utilizing all critical resources within the organization to expedite this process. -Responsibilities also include:

  • Assists in the development and maintenance of protocols, algorithms, and work aids to support the operations of the patient logistics department.
  • Ensures bed placement staff has the tools they need to effectively and efficiently facilitate placement of patients in Dignity Health Facilities.
  • Assist in the development and facilitate orientation of new staff.
  • Compiles data for the purpose of quality assurance and compliance with organizational and department policies, work aids, and algorithms.
  • Holds Patient Logistics staff accountable to the established standards.
  • Participate in Patient Logistics growth and improvement.
  • Support program director and manager in preparation of reports, program material, research, data collecting and analysis for various meetings and or programs.
  • Manage Transfer Center in accordance with the established work aids and algorithms and support staff in learning and upholding these work processes.
  • Lead managerial support to Patient Logistics Coordinator and support of Patient Logistics RNs and other staff as needed.
  • Ability to function and lead independently with self-initiative and discipline.
    Qualifications
    Minimum Qualifications:
    • Registered Nurse with:
      • 5 years of clinical experience;
      • 2 years of ICU or ED experience;
      • 1 year of leadership experience.
      • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN).
      • Current Registered Nurse (RN) License in Arizona is required.Training Required:
        • Familiarity with TeleTracking, TransferCenter, Cerner and Midas.Special Skills Required:
          • Must have the ability to communicate effectively with a variety of customers including patients, providers, hospital and office staff, health plans, medical groups, internal departments, community resources and peers.
          • Ability to work independently and apply critical thinking skills toward making appropriate decisions, as well as in a team environment.
          • Ability to multi-task and prioritize.
          • Detail oriented.
          • Excellent organizational and communication skills, and ability to meet timeframes.
          • Ability to learn quickly and retain complex information.Preferred Qualifications
            • Experience as a House Supervisor.
            • Critical Care, Case Management or Care Coordination.
