Career OpportunityThe Sr. Business Development Manager is
responsible for developing the WestRock portfolio and building the
Horticulture packaging and display capabilities to multiple key
account customers with the aim of optimizing sales volumes, margins
and growth opportunities.Within this critical role, you will be
given the opportunity to develop new opportunities, expand on
existing opportunities, and strategically manage and develop the
overall sales portfolio. You'll be provided the resources needed to
differentiate yourself, and our products in ways that provide
innovative packaging solutions to our customers.How You Will Impact
WestRock
- Lead Regional discussions, negotiations, and the pricing of all
relevant account bids in conjunction with SVP Sales and National
Sales Director
- Effectively communicate with all account managers so all
parties understand each customer fulfillment strategy
- Drive high standards of customer relationship management (CRM)
and Sales Plan execution
- Provide accurate short, medium and long term reporting and
forecasts as necessary to support business planning activities
- Pro-actively work with group Marketing and the wider account
team on seeking out detailed market analysis (including competitor
activity and market trends) to support the Key Account plan longer
term
- Work proactively with commercial and Operations colleagues to
introduce and implement margin enhancement opportunities with all
work won
- Target, develop and negotiate with new sales relationships to
increase sales volume and maximize profitability in all the
Organizations Products and Services with objective of enhancing a
multi-channel supplier strategy
- Develop new business through working with Regional sales teams,
new prospects/customers including site visits and phone
contact
- Relationship builder internally and externally: - with senior
customer reps; strategic alliances (high and wide)
- Augment Annual business planning meeting (top to top)
- Keep up to date with competitor information and market trends;
identify business opportunities for the organization; maintain
awareness of developments in the organizational structure;
demonstrate financial awareness; control costs and think in terms
of profit, loss and added valueWhat You Need To Succeed
- Bachelor's degree or relevant sales experience
- Prior outside sales experience within Horticulture, Ag-Chem,
Print and Packaging strongly preferred
- Understanding of the printing and packaging sector;
understanding of the principles of manufacturing
- Verifiable sales experience maintaining major account
relationships and meeting personal sales targets within the full
line of products or combination of products
- Proven prospecting, follow-up, and solutions selling abilities
with a quantifiable record of success in new business development,
and sales goal achievement
- Strong business acumen, leadership skills, negotiation skills,
conceptual and analytical skills, and interpersonal
effectiveness
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, CRM (Salesforce a plus)
- Ability to collaborate with others to develop creative new
ideas to drive the organization forward in innovation
- Ability to travel at least 50% of the time, travel fluctuates
