with you in more detail.Job Summary:
- Provide support in strategic initiatives for the business
continuity program
- Oversee the execution of the business continuity testing
program, review of test results and remediation of any observed
weaknesses
- Ensure all regulatory requirements (e.g. FFIEC, OCC, FRB), are
being adhered to, propose applicable updates to policies and
procedures
- Perform risk assessments, identify issues and/or control gaps,
analyze gaps, document and report findings, and recommend
remediation plans to management
- Perform annual risk reviews and controls assurance checks
- Validate and challenge data and results to ensure risk ratings
are accurately stated, agreed to, and understood
- Oversee remediation activities and document actions taken
- Review and engage in contract negotiations for business
continuity/disaster recovery clauses as required
- Identify opportunities for process improvements to deliver
increasing operational efficiency in the processes
- Support internal business continuity education and best
practices sharing with peers and colleagues, as well as third party
education& awareness, as needed
- Develop and maintain the continuous process improvement program
which includes (but is not limited to) a broad range of ongoing
activities related to regulatory changes, bank processes, systems
issues and enhancements to the program
- Perform risk assessments, review and challenge assessments
performed by others, including risk identification, risk controls,
and risk monitoring and reporting
- Drive the socialization, adoption, consistency, appropriate
implementation, and ongoing maintenance of the business continuity
risk management framework, as well as business continuity program
policies, standards, methods, etc.
- Drive business continuity risk management requirements,
including efforts to increase efficiency and ensure alignment with
enterprise risk management practices
- Provide recommendations on changes or program enhancements
required to address such requirements, risks, and threats
- Facilitate integration of second line frameworks policies,
standards and regulatory requirements
- Assess business continuity/disaster recovery risks and
policy/standard/procedure compliance relating to controls design
and effectiveness, testing processes, testing results, and
sample-based testing
- Provide support for internal audits and regulatory exams
- Travel and/or work evenings and/or weekends as business needs
requireSkills/Required Experience:
- BS in Finance, Computer Sciences, or Risk Management preferred,
or demonstrated equivalent experience
- Professional certification from the Disaster Recovery Institute
International or from The Business Continuity Institute (e.g.,
Associate Business Continuity Professional (ABCP), Certified
Business Continuity Professional (CBCP), Master Business Continuity
Professional (MBCP), Member of the Business Continuity Institute
(MBCI), and/or other Business Continuity or industry related
certifications preferred
- Minimum of 10 years with a strong background in enterprise-wide
Business Continuity, Disaster Recovery, and/or Crisis Management
experience as applied in a business and technical environment in
the banking or financial industry preferred
- Minimum 4 years knowledge of leasing and negotiation
skills
- Minimum 4 years experience in bank corporate strategy role
- M&A experience is a plus
- RSA Archer experience is a plus
- Demonstrated knowledge in activities related to crisis and
emergency management.
- Understanding and ability to apply policies/procedures, laws
and regulations including delivery of requests for proposal (RFPs),
requests for information (RFIs), and regulatory requirements
including but not limited to: Federal Financial Institutions
Examinations Council (FFIEC), Office of the Comptroller of the
Currency (OCC), Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA),
Federal Reserve
- Knowledge of technology infrastructure environments
- Familiarity with third party contracts and service
agreements
- Creative and able to apply "out of the box" thinking, to
proactively determine business resiliency, and assess emerging
industry risk
- Strong understanding of business continuity process management
methodologies and systems
- Excellent project management skills, including task
identification, project planning, and ability to understand scope
of recovery efforts, ability to coordinate critical activities
during continuity exercises and events, and proficiency with tools
required to pull project together.
- Advanced level skills in MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Minimum of 6 years practical Business Continuity, Disaster
Recovery, and Crisis Management experience as applied in a business
and technical environment in the banking or financial industry
preferred
- Strong focus and capabilities to lead and prioritize multiple
responsibilities simultaneously
- Flexible and able to adapt in a rapidly changing
organization
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills to effectively interact with
peers, subordinates, internal and external customers and
vendors
- Demonstrated ability to influence and motivate individuals and
teams
- Advanced presentation skills and verbal and written
communication skills to communicate directly with many levels of
the organization and must be able to lead both discussions and
