Salary Range: $38,000 - $42,000 SUMMARY: Manages the cashier staff and their overall functions; provides a positive customer experience; works closely with management in making decisions that contribute to the store's success. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: --- Supervises cashier area, providing high-quality customer service and maintaining merchandising and cleanliness standards. --- Provides training, sets performance goals, and provides evaluative feedback to all direct reports. --- Maintains a high level of customer service by ensuring that merchandising/recovery is completed and that register area is processing customers in a timely manner. --- Hires, trains, supervises, motivates, and develops staff; manages schedules and workflow. --- Assigns duties and monitors quality of work; assures staff conforms to organizational policies and procedures. --- Provides day-to-day guidance and oversight of subordinates; actively works to promote and recognize performance. --- Prepares all required reports and paperwork. --- Performs other related duties as assigned by management. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: --- Directly supervises 6-8 employees within the Cashier department. --- Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. --- Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. QUALIFICATIONS: --- Three to five years related experience or equivalent. --- Knowledge of retail operations and pos/register systems. --- Demonstrated proficiency in supervising and motivating subordinates --- Commitment to excellence and high standards --- Excellent written and oral communication skills --- Ability to manage priorities and workflow --- Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm --- Excellent customer service skills --- Good judgement with the ability to make timely and sound decisions --- Creative, flexible, and innovative team player --- Ability to effectively communicate with people at all levels and from various backgrounds.
