Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Hardware-in-the-Loop
(HWIL) Systems Engineer - Level 6 The technical lead to support the
GPI program’s Test & Evaluation (T&E) Integrated Product Team
(IPT). The T&E IPT has whole landscape ownership of program
test campaign through Initial Operational Capability (IOC). T&E
IPT is accountable to ensure ground and flight test hardware is
ready for test execution and post test data certification. Seeking
candidate that has strong technical depth in systems test and
evaluation with emphasis in Hardware in the Loop (HWIL)
development, Configuration Control, HWIL Requirements definition
with consideration for tactical system specifications, forge use
case and subsequent test objectives utilized in for-score testing.
Responsibilities: Lead the full lifecycle of HWIL activities, from
requirements definition, strategy development, and lab design
through test execution. Supports test equipment hardware and
software requirements planning, architecture development, detailed
design, and integration/startup of real time computer and full
hardware in loop test laboratories Develops test equipment hardware
and software architectures to support real time distorted scene
injection into flight hardware, as part of test laboratory
development. Develops GPU software to predict and mimic flight
condition scenarios in real time test environment Technical Problem
Solving: Proven ability to troubleshoot complex, multi-domain
system failures (hardware/software/mechanical) and conduct root
cause analyses. Cross-Functional Leadership: Strong communication
skills to act as a primary technical liaison between software,
hardware, and systems engineering teams. Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science/Engineering degree in Computer Science,
Computer Systems, or related degree and 14 years of related
experience, or a Master of Science degree in a related discipline
and 12 years of related experience Must have the ability to obtain
a U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance Experience with
technical leadership, high-fidelity system integration, and
hands-on, end-to-end testing accountability. Experience in design,
integration and testing with real time computer in loop and
hardware in loop test laboratories Software development experience
in C, C++, C# and/or Java in Linux and/or Windows environment This
position requires the applicant to be a U.S. citizen. Preferred
Qualifications: HWIL & Real-Time Simulation expert knowledge of
real-time, closed-loop simulation systems, including sensor
emulation (IR, RF, Electro-optical) and actuator control. System
Integration proficiency in integrating flight software, hardware
components, and environmental models to validate complex control
systems. Hardware Knowledge expertise in test equipment design,
Interface Test Adapters (ITA), data acquisition systems (DAQ),
power supplies, and signal generators. Standards & Compliance
awareness of MIL-STD-1553, ARINC-429, and DO-178C/DO-254 standards.
Familiarity with 6 degree of freedom (6Dof) simulation systems and
integration of 6DoF simulation models into a real time environment
for test as you fly scenarios Strategy & Analysis experience in
defining test methodologies, performing 6DOF analysis, and
supporting pre/post-flight test data reviews. Experience in
developing interfaces to support weapon system integration efforts.
Experience IR scene injection into electronics for processing in
real time embedded flight firmware/software, GPU Development
experience to present real time constrained scene generation
Experience working in an Agile framework and team environment.
Ability to work with multi discipline team and a dynamic work

Primary Level Salary Range: $166,500.00 - $249,700.00 The above
salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop
Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary
offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and
the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market
conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible
for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in
addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward
individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in
company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions
may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop
Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance
