The Senior Azure Cloud Engineer will join a team of capable Cloud
deployment engineers who focus directly on delivering IaaS
solutions for Red River Professional Services (RRPS) customers. The
RRPS Cloud team focuses on the design, implementation, and
migration of robust, reliable, and secure cloud platform solutions.
Cloud technologies play an increasingly integral part in the
business outcomes of our customers, and it is our goal to support
those outcomes. As a Senior member of this cloud team, you will be
expected to lead cloud architecture and implementation efforts,
interface with vendors, develop tools and organize open source and
commercial components, and development / execute on testing, to
solve problems for running current and proposed processes on cloud
infrastructure(s). While the focus of this position is to support
Microsoft Azure environments, comfort and experience with a diverse
set of cloud architectures like AWS and GPC will result in an
extremely successful engineer in this role.
Primary Position Tasks:
Architect, design, develop and implement Cloud solutions in
Microsoft Azure encompassing multiple specializations, platforms,
and technologies
Specialize in providing a high degree of Cloud consultation for
customers across Enterprise, SLED, and Federal markets
Working as the Senior Azure resource on an existing Cloud
Professional Services team. This individual should be comfortable
supporting a larger number of projects in a supporting or technical
escalation role.
Collaborating closely with Cloud Practice Architects to deliver new
Cloud service offerings and working with the team to develop
implementation methodologies.
Create blueprints for future Cloud topologies (services and
interfaces) that minimize costs while maximizing performance,
reliability, and manageability
Create, maintain, and communicate the overall roadmap and solution
architecture specification for various Cloud initiatives
Interpret and provide solutions on
complex---technologies/architectures
Design, implement and test robust failover procedures
Create automated approaches and scripts for system administration
tasks where possible and appropriate
Develop, support, and document automated build and configuration
management processes
Guide and participate in the implementation and coding of the new
solutions you conceive and design
Train and mentor Administrators and Engineers in the new standards
and processes
Minimum---** Education/Certification/Experience
**---Requirements:
5-7 years of relevant professional experience in a large, diverse,
server environment
5+ years experience in the Microsoft Azure Ecosystem
3+ years of prior government and/or commercial consulting
experience
Advanced knowledge of the primary Microsoft IaaS services
Experience implementing Microsoft IaaS services in a variety of
distributed computing environments
Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert
Knowledge of IP networking, VPN's, DNS, load balancing and
firewalling.
Technical proficiency including systems experience, strong
troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, and issue management in
a multi-platform environment
Experience identifying gaps in existing client skill base and
developing documentation to include skill requirements and required
certifications for roles/positions, inventory of required
competencies, and an inventory of required technical skills by
role
Knowledge of Architecture governance best practices and experience
applying them to solve client problems
Experience defining the specific metrics which communicate the
benefits of an architecture program to the business; tracking to
what extent those benefits are being delivered on an ongoing basis;
and identifying metric stakeholders and owners
Deployment and operational expertise of Windows OSs
**Preferred---** Education/Certification/Experience:
Possess Sr. Level Windows Systems experience
Strong knowledge of SAN and backup technologies
Experienced with networking and network/system security
Subject matter expert in server hardware and operating systems
In depth knowledge of VMWare, Microsoft, HP, IBM, Cisco, VCE, Dell
Systems and other major vendors of infrastructure technology
In depth knowledge of public cloud providers like AWS, Azure or
other major vendors of public cloud
Deployment and operational expertise of MacOS, Linux, and other
Operating Systems.
Understanding of Automation and Continuous Integration & Deployment
(CI-CD)
Planning and designing complex system configurations and standards
for Virtualization and Storage platforms from scratch
Influence and drive cloud related capabilities, solutions and
opportunities in coordination with external partners, operations
and application teams.
Design and implement secure cloud application environments with
centralize identity management.
Deep understanding of load balancing and scalability techniques
Hands-on scripting experiencewith Powershell
Knowledge and Skills:
Creative person with the ability to design innovative solutions
Goal oriented with high standards for quality and performance
Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills with the ability
to exercise mature judgment
Ability to work independently and manage multiple task
assignments
Knowledge of project management methodology
Ability and discipline to work and succeed in a fast pace and

rapidly changing technology, and to lead and manage small
projects
Demonstrated record in leading and instilling service disciplines
and teamwork
Strong oral and written communication skills, including
presentation skills (Visio, PowerPoint, etc.)
Strong self-awareness and self-motivation
Essential Elements ---:
Remote Position: This position requires the ability to continuously
communicate with co-workers throughout the day utilizing Red River
approved and/or provided communication tools and equipment.
The estimated annual salary range for this position is
$120,000-$140,000. The compensation for this position is dependent
on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
