What You'll Do:
We are seeking candidates with the expertise and passion for
solving challenging and unique problems. As a Site Reliability
Engineer you will:
Work with the Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) team on the shared
full stack ownership of a collection of services and/or technology
areas.
Understand the end-to-end configuration, technical dependencies,
and overall behavioral characteristics of production services.
Be responsible for the design and delivery of the mission critical
stack, with focus on security, resiliency, scale, and performance
and authority for end-to-end performance and operability.
Partner with development teams in defining and implementing
improvements in service architecture.
Articulate technical characteristics of services and technology
areas and guide development teams to engineer and add premier
capabilities to the Oracle Cloud service portfolio.
Understand and communicate the scale, capacity, security,
performance attributes, and requirements of the service and
technology stack.
Demonstrate clear understanding of automation and orchestration
principles.
Act as ultimate partner concern point for complex or critical
issues that have not yet been documented as Standard Operating
Procedures (SOPs).
Use a deep understanding of service topology and their dependencies
required to solve issues and define mitigations.
Understand and explain the effect of product architecture decisions
on distributed systems
Solve complex problems related to infrastructure cloud services and
build automation to prevent problem recurrence.
Design, write, and deploy software to improve the availability,
scalability, and efficiency of Oracle products and services.
Design and develop designs, architectures, standards, and methods
for large-scale distributed systems.
Facilitate service capacity planning and demand forecasting,
software performance analysis, and system tuning
The Team:
The Site Reliability Engineering Team is responsible for creating
and delivering cloud services that protect both the databases on
the Oracle Cloud and On-Premises databases. Our mission is to
provide industry leading data protection services our customers
need and depend on when everything else fails. Our team is
responsible for ensuring all the components of our Recovery Cloud
Services work seamlessly together. We are constantly pushing to
define and develop the end-to-end automation of complex workflows
found in day-to-day management of the Recovery Service. This team
will keep you learning and delivering mission critical services
that our customers depend on.
What You'll Bring (Objective Minimum Qualifications):
To be considered for the Site Reliability Engineer position, you
must possess the Objective Minimum Qualifications (OMQs) below.
Please ensure that your application clearly indicates that you meet
these OMQs , either on your resume and/or by uploading additional
documents such as a transcript.
Have a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or an
equivalent field by August 2023 .
Have no more than 12 months of professional full-time work
experience in the technology field (excluding internships, research
and/or teaching assistant roles, and military experience).
Experience with a general-purpose systems language (e.g.Python,
Perl, Unix Shell) and/or database language (e.g. SQL, PL/SQL)
Reside in the United States and/or attend a university in the
US.
Able to obtain work authorization in the US in 2022-23.
Additional Preferred Qualifications:
Technical expertise in two or more of the following: Terraform,
Infrastructure as Code, Oracle Database, Linux, RMAN, Exadata.
Working knowledge of two or more of the following: Virtualization,
Containers, Docker, Kubernetes, Github, Jira, Teamcity,
Bitbucket
Experience with build automation, continuous integration,
continuous deployment tools
Prior SRE experience managing production cloud services and/or
releasing and maintaining cloud services

Range and benefit information provided in this posting are specific
to the stated location(s)
California Pay Range: from $69,600 to $135,400 per annum. May be
eligible for bonus and equity.
Colorado Pay Range: from $65,700 to $121,900 per annum. May be
eligible for bonus and equity.
New York City Pay Range: from $65,700 to $128,700 per annum. May be
eligible for bonus and equity.
Washington Pay Range: from $73,400 to $128,700 per annum. May be
eligible for bonus and equity.
Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to
account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience and market
conditions, as well as reflect Oracle's differing products,
industries and lines of business.
Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the
preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.
