Description
The Senior Pharmacy Engineer oversees logistics, fabrication, installation, operation, application, maintenance, and repair of mechanical and electromechanical machines, equipment, tools, motors and systems The Senior Pharmacy Engineer work assignments involve moderately complex to complex issues where the analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.
Responsibilities
The Senior Pharmacy Engineer ensures maintenance and continuous improvement of quality and industry standards, evaluates mechanical products to determine cost effectiveness and efficiency, oversees and implements prescription drug distribution equipment and recommends design modifications to eliminate malfunctions, reduce cost-to-fill, increase throughput and improve quality, performs and leads tests of related software and equipment to ensure proper operation and freedom from defects, and devises improvements to current procedures and develops models of possible future configurations. Begins to influence department's strategy. Makes decisions on moderately complex to complex issues regarding technical approach for project components, and work is performed without direction. Exercises considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignments.
Requirements

  A four-year Bachelor of Science degree is recommended at a minimum along with 6+ years of practical hands-on experience.
  
  
• 
  This position will require knowledge and expertise to design the mechanical layout of production facilities and the configuration/integration of machinery within.
  
  
• 
  This work will also require the ability to analyze and mathematically calculate mechanical loads of the equipment and structures to complete the systems.
  
  
• 
  When necessary this candidate will be required to review mechanical drawings and designs from outside vendors to give approval for construction or make recommendations for changes to meet or internal standards.
  
  
• 
  In addition, the ability to create 3D models and drawings with the use of either SolidWorks and/or AutoDesk is nearly essential.
