Summary:
Meta is seeking a Visiting Research Engineer to join one of our Research & Development teams. The ideal candidate will have industry experience working on Language related topics. The position will involve taking these skills and applying them to solve for some of the most crucial & exciting problems that exist on the web. We are hiring in multiple locations. Term length would be considered on a case-by-case basis.
Required Skills:
Visiting Research Engineer, Language Responsibilities:

• 
  Contribute research that can be applied to Metas product development
  
  
• 
  Apply relevant AI and machine learning techniques to build intelligent rich language systems that improve Meta's products and experiences
  
  
• 
  Develop novel, accurate AI algorithms and advanced systems for large scale applications
  
  
• 
  Identify, motivate, and execute on reasonable medium to large hypotheses for model improvements through data analysis and domain knowledge
  
  
• 
  Understand common systems considerations and modeling issues, and factor this into improved modeling choices
  
  
• 
  Define use cases and develop methodology and benchmarks to evaluate different approaches
  
  
  Minimum Qualifications:

  Specialized experience in one or more of the following machine learning/deep learning domains: Language: NLP, ASR, TTS, Conversational AI
  
  
• 
  Experience developing language algorithms or language infrastructure in C/C++ or Python
  
  
• 
  Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  
  
  Preferred Qualifications:

  Publications in Machine Learning, AI, computer science, statistics, applied mathematics, data science, or related technical fields
  
  
• 
  Experience with distributed systems or on-device algorithm development

  Experience in deep learning and PyTorch

  Experience contributing to AI Publications
  
  
  Public Compensation:
  $104,000/year to $168,000/year + benefits
