Job DescriptionSalary: Please note that pursuant to a government
contract, this specific position requires U.S. citizenship status.
Role Summary:The Senior Network Engineer is responsible for
maintaining the design and integrity of the corporate enterprise,
encompassing customer and program enclaves. Responsible for
engineering a network that accomplishes corporate objectives and
meets customer demand via the design, configuration, and
maintenance of networked devices; the selection, implementation,
and management of networking protocols; and the provision of
technical assistance to team members including recommendations to
leadership. Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work closely with leadership, product development, third party
elements, customers, and security team members to design, deploy,
and manage functional networks (LAN, WLAN, WAN)
- Configure and install network devices: firewalls, routers,
switches, VPN, load balancer, ISP
- Teach, coach, and guide a team of network engineers
- Proactively monitor network performance and integrity
- Automate tasks and monitor their effectiveness
- Create, oversee, and routinely test security measures (eg
authentication and disaster recovery)
- Communicate with users when needed
- Maintain complete technical documentation
- Suggest improvements to network performance, capacity and
scalability
- Install networks in OCONUS locations as directed by project
PMEducation:
- BS in Computer Science, Telecommunications, or related
engineering field (or at least 5 years of direct experience working
as a network engineer) is desiredExperience:
- At least 5 years direct industry-related experience as a
Network Engineer/Architect OR have knowledge comparable to a Senior
Network Engineer/Architect with 5 years of experienceSkills &
Knowledge:
- Independent and self-disciplined engineer who thrives operating
outside of direct management.
- Critical thinker who assesses risk and generates innovative
options aligned with corporate intent
- Problem-solver capable of responding to unpredictable
requirements
- Working knowledge and proficiency with networked hardware:
Cisco, Dell, Netgate, Juniper
- Working knowledge and proficiency with networking concepts: IP
management, scripting, design, maintenance, troubleshooting
- Comfortable with deploying change to a production
environment
- Possesses detailed knowledge and familiar with communication
protocols and routing protocols: ICMP, TCP/IP, BGP, VLANs, VPS
- Working knowledge and proficiency with common network and
Linux-based operating systems
- Familiar with access control models and network security
- Working knowledge and proficiency with VMWare and Cloud
Computing (AWS) is a plus
- Working knowledge and proficiency with network diagnostic,
monitoring, and analysis tools Additional Requirements:
- Professional certifications (CCNA, CCNP, or CCIE) are
desired
- Must be able to obtain a TS/SCI security clearance
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.Please note that pursuant to a
