About the Opportunity:You will be instrumental in the transformation of our next generation event inventory management platform which is the silent backbone of the secondary ticketing industry.You know (as much as you might fight it) the constraints of technology are just as important as their promise, because its in the constraints we find our best ideas. Someone who sees the patterns in the chaos and knows how to translate those patterns into technology solutions for your end users. We would love to hear from you.General IT / Software Engineering Experience / Skills:

  • Design and build simple, elegant, and scalable solutions that solve complex business problems.
  • Develops (or at least supports the creation of, with business analyst help) well-written Engineering artifacts (e.g. Systems & Application designs, Data Model designs, Solution Maintenance documentation, etc.) as needed.
  • Strong understanding of agile (SCRUM) software development processes, and their role within this.
  • Skilled at estimating effort for software projects and thinking through solutions end to end.
  • Knows how to fully test code, comments well, and writes the simplest code possible.
  • Architects systems, not just build databases while leaving the platform in a better place when making modifications.
  • Know when to build an MVP and when to build it right.
  • Develop written and visual digital content
  • (Preferred) Minimum of a University degree in computer technologies (e.g. Comp Sci, Info Systems, etc.).

  • (Bonus) Has worked within the secondary ticketing industry within the last 5 years.Specific Data Engineering Experience / Skills:
    • Identify and develop data architecture best practices to modernize our transactional data platforms.
    • Has transformed immature data architecture approaches, and supporting processes and artifacts into mature environments with continually maintained, reference-able artifacts.
    • Be part of the Enterprise Architecture leadership team, working collaboratively to define enterprise and data architecture and data management designs to meet technical objectives.
    • Evaluate and document the current state of the portfolio of data systems
    • Review and participate in Enterprise Architecture and data management initiatives
    • Lead enterprise architecture and data management resources to define architectural guidelines for interoperability; data structures, end-states, recovery, security, backup, and architecture.
    • Leverage Agile practices to define data architecture tasks and maintain and prioritize the backlog
    • Advocate data architecture best practices and services by collaborating with data engineers, analysts, stewards, and stakeholders.
    • Lead development of data architecture with input from the enterprise and from best practices.
    • Hands on experience designing and managing data solutions on Postgres and ElasticSearch.
    • Understands how to work on a multi-functional team (not only coders) that uses version control and automated end-to-end testing with continuous integration.
    • Effectively communicates with stakeholders and non-developers to understand the business reasons behind the change being made.
    • Contributes to and promotes continual SDLC and related process / artifact improvements.
    • (Preferred) Experience building applications that leverage AWS (Amazon Web Services) managed services such as Aurora, S3, SQS, DynamoDB, etc.
    • (Preferred) Experience with Ruby/Rails ActiveRecord and/or Python sqlalchemy

      • Data Architecture and BI / Analytics Solutions is a passion, with an overarching enterprise perspective towards the larger picture of information architecture / mgmt; and has the ability to communicate this vision verbally and in written engineering documentation.
      • You must love to code and collaborate with teammates, including other coders, architects, requirements owners, and testers.
      • Excellent attention to detail.
      • Excellent collaborative and team-oriented skills.
      • Engages professionally and effectively with external and internal customers and stakeholders.
      • Ability to communicate well in a matrixed and collaborative company environment.
      • Self-reliant worker who takes pride in figuring things out on their own, but appropriately asks for help from teammates when needed.
