Job Description:
Position SummaryServing on the Marketing/Communications Team,
the Creative Services Manager is responsible for ensuring brand
compliance and managing and executing the visual and technical
elements of Girl Scouts marketing and communications operations.
This person must have creative expertise and technical competencies
to provide on-brand, consistent, and functionally sound Girl Scout
experiences across all mediums and materials-from design and
printing to email and website development and maintenance.Reports
to: Sr. Director, Marketing/Communications FLSA Status: Regular
full-time, exempt Essential FunctionsSupport regional brand
reputation responsibilities of the council's Marcom Team Brand
visuals and creative lead - advise proper branding implementation
to maintain brand visual standards outlined by GSUSA.Remain current
with and an expert resource on GSUSA brand guidelines and Marcom
materials. Participate in GSUSA webinars and proactively leverage
available resources.Play an integral role in maintaining brand
standards, updates, materials: support training and coaching of
team members and other staff and partners.Review, edit, and provide
solutions for all visual creative, graphics, co-branding, logo
requests, etc., created by team members, staff, partners,
volunteers.Report trademark, copyright, and IP infringement to
GSUSA legal as identified and appropriate. Marcom project
management Provide insight and support strategic planning and
project timelines in line with council objectives and
priorities.Review, assign, deliver and maintain the status of
requested projects through the council's Freshdesk ticket
system/project queue.Ensure projects are developed, approved, and
evaluated on time and in budget. Manage design and print operations
for the council Produce a multitude of print and digital projects.
This includes creation, layout, sizing, revisions, and edits for
print and digital ads, flyers, brochures, patches, presentations,
magazines, manuals, catalogs, emails, social media graphics,
merchandise, signage/posters/banners, direct mail pieces, props,
etc. Approx. 40-75 new projects each month.Review & assign print
projects for the most efficient production. Oversee business
services' in-house support. Work closely with vendors to prepare
printing specifications, obtain bids, and contract large projects.
Web Management - develop, manage, and maintain the council website
while working closely with and adhering to guidelines outlined by
GSUSAOversee the functionality of the website, troubleshoot
problems, and engage appropriate technical support as
needed.Evaluate and manage website performance, including search
engine optimization. Design web pages and incorporate third-party
functionalities as needed (widgets, maps, etc.)Develop, optimize,
customize, and update website content as requested. Email
Development and Management - design, produce, test, troubleshoot
email campaigns Produce council emails, including ongoing member
communications and timely email marketing initiatives.Leverage
sophisticated software to maximize efforts and ROI. Includes but is
not limited to testing content components, personalization and
targeting, automated emails, developing series based on customer
interactions, etc. Database management and pulling data,
cross-referencing, importing, and maintaining subscriber
attributes.Stay up to date with regulated email marketing and
ensures compliance/protects council's IP address and status.
Collaborate with Marcom and Membership team members to strategize
and implement email marketing and lead nurturing campaigns in
support of new member recruitment effortsUse Salesforce Marketing
Cloud email functionalities, segmentation, lead scoring system.
Provide input on the shared business process for lead and prospect
management workflow.Design and develop all identified email nurture
campaigns. Segment lists and develops data extensions.Support
reporting and optimization efforts. Prioritize teamwork/team spirit
- support Marcom Team and its cross-functional planning and
relationship buildingAttend team and cross-functional meetings as
assigned. Collaborate with team and other staff on new ideas,
directions, and venues for marketing and communications
overall.Provide technical-A/V and presentation staffing support-
for key council events.Monitoring, measurement, and reporting is a
key follow-through on all assigned initiatives. Work with team to
analyze and report back to internal and external partners. Critical

Qualifications5+ years of creative professional experience,
including 2+ years of design experience, and 2+ years of web
management or development and email marketing or development
experience, with a B. A. in related field. Must include a portfolio
and/or functioning examples of work that demonstrate graphic
design, web, and email skills.Adaptable to specific brand and
editorial guidelines. Experience with regional or higher brand
management responsibilities, including training, reviewing work,
and advising others to maintain standards.Highly proficient in
Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop), Microsoft
Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) in a PC
environment.Proficient with website management - including web
design and development and managing content and updates through a
content management system, preferably Adobe Experience Manager
(AEM). Willingness to quickly learn a new system if
needed.Proficient with data management and email systems,
preferably Salesforce and Marketing Cloud. Willingness to quickly
learn a new system if needed.Understand UX and proficient with HTML
and other relevant web and email design coding languages.Experience
with project management systems, preferably Freshdesk.Social media
experience - a firm grasp of available tools and platforms in the
social media space, with experience designing for and utilizing
said channels in a business setting. Comfortable managing a project
from brief to concept to polished deliverable.Ability to
communicate in a professional manner, both verbally and in writing.

Desired Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesStrong grammar skills and
proofing ability.Bilingual, Spanish a plus.Knowledge of, or
willingness to learn, the Girl Scout program. Enthusiasm for the

organization. Physical AbilitiesAble to lift 25+ lbs., sit at a
computer for three consecutive hours, stand for 2+ hours/day, climb
stairs daily.Able to work evenings and weekends, when
