This role is Responsible for generating, writing, editing and producing documents across TGen departments, including but not limited to Scientific, Office of Sponsored Research (OSR), Marketing and Communications (MARCOMM) and the TGen Foundation. Science (TGen PIs & OSR) writing responsibilities will include contributions to grants and manuscripts of individual TGen PIs, as well as progress report development. Institutional documents for national/international grants will be developed and maintained. Writing support for MARCOMM will include contributions to: news releases, employee newsletters, institutional magazines, brochures, and other media materials (including text for the TGen web site, the TGen Foundation web site, internal corporate documents, articles (magazine and newspaper) and all other materials that serve as a communications/media/public relations vehicle, both internally and externally). Writing support for the Foundation will include proposal development and supporting materials towards Foundation outreach.Responsibilities include: Write, edit, and produce materials in support of TGen PIs and the OSR, including grants, manuscripts and progress updates. Assist and support MARCOMM with news releases, employee newsletters, institutional magazines, brochures, and other media materials (including text for the TGen web site, the TGen Foundation web site, internal corporate documents, articles (magazine and newspaper) and all other materials that serve as a communications/media/public relations vehicle, both internally and externallyWrite and edit documents in support of the TGen Foundation - including proposal development and supporting documents/mediums supporting Foundation outreach Involved in project management (follow-up, trafficking, etc.)..

Requirements:
What is REQUIRED? Experience in scientific writing, specifically the development of peer-reviewed manuscripts and national/international grants (e.g., NIH). College degree in a scientific field, journalism/publishing, with a strong scientific/medical background. Strong writing and project management skills plus an understanding of public relations and community health issues. A graduate degree is highly recommended, but not an absolute requirement depending on experience. Computer skills - Word, PowerPoint, Excel, a design program such as InDesign or Photoshop. Social media skills, including posting, platforms and search engine optimization is desirable.WHAT IS IDEAL? A Ph.D. in a scientific/medical field with demonstrated experience in publishing peer-reviewed research articles, and a track-record of NIH grant development/submission. Knowledge/expertise in genomic sciences, especially next-generation sequencing, is ideal. Must stay on top of new industry developments, scientific developments, and internal developments. Must understand cutting-edge technologies used by the Institute and be able to explain scientific discoveries to a lay audience as well as a scientific audience. Must be able to adapt and create new materials that are tailored to particular events. In addition to being an expert in grammar and the English language, the position also requires knowledge of both the scientific and media/PR industries.PM21PI183140309
