Job Description:
Responsible for providing strategic financial leadership that
guides Barrow Neurological Institute(BNI) Foundations long-term
sustainability and growth. In close collaboration with the
President, the Board of Trustees, Womens Board, BNI leadership, and
other key external constituents, this role collaborates to ensure
strong financial planning, oversight, and decision-making across
all philanthropic activities. Reporting to the President, BNF/Chief
Philanthropy Officer, BNI, the Director of Finance and
Philanthropic Operations is a key partner that brings a forward-
thinking, analytical, and results-driven mindset, translating
complex data into actionable insights, managing risk, optimizing
resources, and driving performance and growth, while supporting
operational infrastructure as necessary. • Partner with the
President, Board of Trustees, and BNI leadership to develop and
oversee the financial management strategy for Philanthropy,
ensuring strong financial stewardship, sustainability, and
alignment with organizational objectives. • Lead the development
and management of annual operating budgets, financial forecasts,
long-term financial plans, and FTE planning; monitor performance
and recommend corrective actions as needed. • Provide comprehensive
oversight of all accounting, tax, and financial reporting
functions, including monthly financial statements, balance sheets,
statements of activities, pledge tracking, tax filings, endowment
reporting, and cash planning. • Ensure strong financial controls,
audit readiness, regulatory compliance, and coordination of annual
audits and IRS filings with external auditors. Monitor financial
performance and risks across foundations and affiliated entities. •
Lead system-wide operational initiatives, including requests for
proposals and contracting processes related to fundraising and
administrative functions, to drive efficiency, cost effectiveness,
and performance improvement. • Oversee grants management
operations, including work plans, grant cycles, procedures, speaker
series, and timely reporting to donors, funders, and system
philanthropy partners. • Drive operational efficiency and cost
savings through system contracting, vendor management, and
alignment with enterprise policies. • Partner with the President,
Boards of Trustees, executive leadership, and system stakeholders
to support strategic planning, decision-making, and long-range
financial sustainability. • Provide financial leadership and
decision support to Boards and Committees, including Finance and
Investment Committees, Executive Committees, and Grants Committees.
• Support Board and Committee governance for affiliated programs
and entities through regular financial reporting, meeting
coordination, and compliance oversight. Job Requirements Required:
• Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business
Administration • 7 years of progressive experieence • 5 years of
leadership experience Preferred: • Masters Degree in Accounting,
