Job Title:AccountantLocation:CityScapeWhat you'll do:As an
Accountant, you'll have the opportunity to work closely with the
Financial Reporting Managers and other accounting staff to complete
projects that support the bank and the holding company to assist in
implementation of accounting standards as well as SEC and
regulatory financial reporting. This is a fast-paced environment
therefore top-notch multitasking skills are a must. The ideal
candidate will work with integrity and accuracy. They are a team
player with excellent organizational, analytical, and time
management skills. During times of pressure, they maintain a
positive attitude and continue to work and communicate effectively
as well as work cohesively with all levels of staff. They are
internally driven and work independently i.e.: a self-starter who
thinks a few steps ahead and anticipates what is needed prioritizes
tasks, stays aware of due dates, and coordinates with others to
ensure required information is received in time to meet
deadlines.This position provides accounting support to the bank and
the holding company by performing accounting duties including
operational accounting, journal entries, fixed assets, account/bank
reconciliations, accruals, amortizations, transaction analysis,
Treasury & investment accounting, inter-company accounting,
accounting research and ad hoc projects as assigned. This position
will also work closely with external and internal auditors and
examiners to assist in fielding questions and providing supporting
documentation in a professional and timely manner. This position
also ensures compliance with SOX, all policies and procedures, as
well as all applicable state and federal banking regulations.What
we are looking for:
- Work closely with Managers to complete the month-end,
quarter-end and annual close process.
- Provide support to all assigned areas in the Accounting
Department where service or assistance is needed.
- Process Fixed Assets as well as daily and periodic complex
journal entries and reconciliations.
- Learn various tasks throughout the Accounting team to
facilitate adequate coverage of tasks.
- Assist in accounting transactions that require research and
analysis.
- Interface with management, external auditors and regulatory
agencies concerning accounting and SOX requirements.What you need
to have:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or business is required.
- Five+ (5+) years accounting experience with progressively
increased responsibility is required, preferably within a financial
services company.
- Thorough understanding of GAAP is required.
- Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication
skills.
- Exceptional analytical and organization skills.
- Effectively interact with all levels within the Company and
subsidiaries.
- Ability to deal with difficult problems involving multiple
facets and variables in non-standardized situations.
