Description:The Southwest Center for HIV/ AIDS is looking for an
Accounting Manager to oversee all aspects of non-profit accounting
in our growing organization. The Accounting Manager will bring
their expertise to manage AR/AP, grant billing and reporting,
annual audit, month-end close process, and payroll journal entries.
This role is a People Manager supervising the Staff Accountant to
accomplish daily tasks and providing leadership to navigate
department priorities. The Accounting Manager provides foundational
business support to the Southwest Center mission of providing
affirming and inclusive services to promote well-being and advance
health equity for diverse communities and all those seeking
compassionate care - especially people of color, LGBTQIA2S+ and
Queer individuals, and those affected by HIV. What your day will
look like at Southwest Center:
- Reconcile accounts receivable and ensure invoices are allocated
to the appropriate accounts
- Reconcile all payments made to the Center and ensure payments
are allocated to the appropriate accounts
- Maintain food voucher inventory and reconciliation
- Reconcile accounts payable invoices and payments and ensure
payments are allocated to the appropriate accounts
- Produce and enter bi-weekly payroll journal entries
- Assist month-end and year-end close processes
- Interview, hire, train, evaluate, and supervise direct
reports
- Lead the annual audit, including gathering necessary
information and documents for external auditors
- Prepare and submit monthly grant billings
- Asist in tracking and reporting government grants for accuracy
and conformance to departmental, county, state, and federal
requirements
- Maintain fixed assets and depreciation
- Assist in donor recognition support
- Maintain payment reports/ files and supporting documentation

- Retirement savings Requirements: Who we're looking for:
- You've received a Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting or
a closely related field
- You have five years' work experience in accounting; preferably
in non-profit finance
- You're highly proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel,
Outlook, PowerPoint)
- You're knowledgeable of GAAP principles, reporting, and audit
procedures
- You have the cultural competency to professionally and
respectfully serve the LGBTQIA2S+ communities

- You have experience with insurance billing
- You've worked with state, federal, and/ or county funders;
including, document contract expense, time and effort, and
reimbursement requests
- You have single audit support experience
- You have experience working in Paylocity HRIS
- You have experience working in Business Central Environmental
Factors, Physical Requirements, and Compliance
- Work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal
safety/health hazard potential.
- Office environment, exposure to computer screens for lengthy
periods of time.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is
regularly required to walk, sit, stand; use hands, talk, and hear.
The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close
vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus.
- Currently have, or be able to obtain within 90 days of
employment, a valid Fingerprint Clearance Card
- Currently have, or are able to obtain within 7 days of
employment, a clear TB test
- Currently have, or are able to obtain within 7 days of
employment, a current flu vaccination
