We are looking for a qualified AR Accounting Specialist to join our Operations team.For this position we expect you to be a tech-savvy professional with a solid understanding of all accounting functions, business aptitude and understand how these efforts help Highnoon achieve our goals. We are looking for a proactive individual with an analytical and inquisitive mind, strong attention to detail, the capability to multitask, and the ability to be adaptable and evolve their responsibilities over time. This is a great opportunity to get exposure to various aspects of the accounting cycle and business processes.The AR Accounting Specialist will report to our Controller and will be responsible for supporting the designated accounting activities. The ideal candidate has a core accounting background and experience with advertising, marketing or media companies is preferred. To be successful in this role, we advise candidates with 2-3 years of relevant experience in fast-paced environments and a strong work ethic to apply.RESPONSIBILITIES:Prepares, posts, verifies, and records customer payments and transactions related to accounts receivableCreates invoices according to company practices; submits invoices to internal Client Services team and customers for reviewMaintains and updates customer files, including name or address changes, mergers, or mailing attentionsDrafts correspondence for standard past-due accounts and collections, identifies delinquent accounts by reviewing files, and contacts delinquent accountholders to request payment.Creates reports regarding the status of customer accounts as requestedResearch customer discrepancies and past-due amounts with the assistance of other staffCollaborates with the Controller/Accounting team to reconcile accounts receivable on a monthly basisAssists in generating monthly billing statementsAssists Controller in reconciling revenue accounts each monthCopies, files, scans, and retrieves materials for accounts receivable as neededRelays changes of information to appropriate employeesExpense Management: Credit card transactions, employee expenses, policy enforcementOperational Processes: Collaborate on interdepartmental process improvements and efficienciesSubmits media Invoices timely and works with accounts payable and the media team to ensure good cash flowsREQUIREMENTSDegree in Accounting2-3 years of hands-on experience with bookkeeping, accounting and general business operationsUnderstanding of GAAP, basic accounting best practices, internal controls and maintaining confidentialityWorking knowledge of accounting software (NetSuite is preferred, expense management platforms, Salesforce and Microsoft Office Suite (proficient in Excel)Strong analytical skills, critical thinking and business acumen are a mustExceptional attention to detail, accuracy, organization, prioritization, and time management skillsPlay a role in supporting key accounting activities, own assigned work and ensure that tasks are completed on timeAbility to work on several tasks at the same time, constantly shift gears, troubleshoot, solve problems, synthesize ideas, and listen to changing needsTake initiative to innovate and solve problems without direct supervision and/or direction, a self-starterFlexibility to adjust quickly and positively to changes in duties, tasks, volume, processes and softwareCapable of working both independently and in a cross-functional team environmentWork cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees, management, clients, and vendorsSelf-starter who is not afraid to ask questions and take their learning into their own handsStrong skill in inter-team cooperation, communication, attention to detail, accountability, and critical thinkingHands-on, collaborative, and a positive, can-do attitudeProvide solutions-oriented approach to problem solvingAbility to work in a deadline driven environmentBENEFITSHighnoon focuses on delivering the absolute highest quality digital marketing and technology solutions to results-driven organizations.
